Sharp LC-46LE831E

After mostly impressing us with its 3D debut a few months back, the 60in 60LE925E, Sharp has finally followed it up with the more manageable - and vastly more affordable - 46in 46LE831E.

Startlingly good 3D pictures ; Very good 2D pictures too ; Good value

Slightly clumsy OS ; Online features off the pace ; Yellows occasionally look slightly over-aggressive

Sharp has struggled recently to make a big impact on the UK TV scene, but the 46LE831E really deserves to change this. It’s a bit clumsy in places, and its online features need expanding. But when push comes to shove it delivers some of the best 2D and...

Sharp LC-46LE831E review

Despite the best efforts of a lab-coated George Takei in Sharp's ‘Quattron' TV ad campaign, the brand's unique four-colour technology hasn't fired the imagination of Joe Public as much as was hoped.

Excellent 2D and 3D picture quality; luxurious design

Some marginal colour balance issues and slight backlight clouding; fiddly operating system

Great screen with a matte finish, really reduces glare issues ; Quattron technology is great, a very bright vivid screen, with good black levels ; 3D performance is good ; Sound is good, surprisingly loud bass for a thin TV ; Very slim TV for its size

The TV menu system is not very intuitive and awkward to navigate ; No 3D glasses included in the package

Great picture, good style and so thin and light. Excellent low power use. A rating

Does not automatically switch to my PVR, but it does know the model and type so sets the screen resolution

Sharp LC40LE831E

Looks stylish. Sounds great and thats without the sourround sound. Image quality is spot on. Watching films through the PS3 that aren't Blue Ray that quality is still 100% better than what I experienced on the old TV

Haven't experienced the 3D yet. Please bring down the price of the glasses or at least offer a family 3D glasses pack deal

Sharp LC40LE831E

Looks good, max picture size for overall dimensions as frame is slim. Great picture and sound. I now get the freeview HD stations which is a bonus

I thought I'd be able to use i-player but can't. I'd prefer the HDMI sockets to be at the bottom of the TV rather than the side as it's a stretch to get to the Blue-Ray and Sky box
