Sharp LC46XD1E

Superb High Definition pictures and above average Standard Definition performance for an unbeatable price ..

The Sharp LC46XD1E delivers a superb all round performance, with a true cinematic HD performance as well as more than competent Standard Definition capability. Highly recommended.

Sharp LC46XD1E Review - 46" Aquos 1080p LCD TV Test

Fantastic black level + high calibrated contrast ratio ; Reasonable greyscale achieved using "Low" colour temperature preset ; Incredible detail from 1920x1080 resolution ; Minimal motion blurring (best among non-MCFI LCD TVs) ; Extremely accessible...

Screen uniformity issues ('banding') ; Electronic buzz (even in standby) and low-pitched hum ; Red push could not be completely eliminated ; Dithering/ pixel noise (up close) unless fed with the most pristine of signals ; Sluggish on-screen menu...

For a first generation 1080p LCD TV, Sharp did a commendable job with the LE46XD1E. Although no longer class leading, black level is – by current standards – still exemplary. Motion handling is as good as it gets for an LCD as long as you don't trot...

Sharp LC-46XD1E

The provision of twin HDMIs also asserts this TV's interest in all things HD, though there's one slight connections glitch as we uncover no dedicated component video input. To get analogue HD video into this TV, therefore, you have to use a provided...

Full HD resolution, impressive picture quality especially with HD, great design, fair price

No dedicated component video input, slight resolution loss with motion, rather tedious operating system

Sharp LC-46XD1E LCD TV

We take Sharp's new 1080p LCD TV for a spin...

Great value, stylish and compact design, excellent hi-def pictures

No dedicated component input, standard def performance can vary

Connection-wise the LC46XD1E isn't quite as spot on though. While there are two HDMI slots, two Scarts (only one of which is RGB) and even a CI slot for Top Up TV, we were left scratching our heads at the lack of a dedicated component input. All's not...

Sharp LC46XD1E

Despite a couple of disparaging reviews I read (before and after purchase) this TV satisfies all my expectations of it.

Maybe a swivel base would be useful (I think newer models may now have this).

Sharp LC46XD1E

Picture quality when linked to HD. Not only are the HD channels superb but also a significant improvement occurred to the non-HD channels when connected to a SKY HD box. Very easy to set-up.

Some channels were 'washy' before connected to a HD box. However this may have been linked to our satellite which was re-tuned when HD box was connected.
