Top LED picture of 2012, but a poor value

Sony's best LED ever has the best non-plasma picture of 2012, but it's very expensive.

The ; produces deeper black levels than any current LCD or plasma TV, giving excellent overall picture quality. It evinces accurate color, offers plenty of video-processing options, and can properly handle 1080p/24 sources. It also has a beautiful,...

The extremely expensive XBR-HX950 shows some blooming artifacts, and its picture deteriorates more noticeably than usual when seen from off-angle. Its menu and Internet service design is lackluster, and Sony does not include 3D glasses. When displaying...

Although it's priced higher and performs worse than the best plasmas, the Sony XBR-HX950 is still one of the top-performing LED TVs ever.

Sony XBR-55HX950 3D LCD TV

When it comes to picture quality, LCD TVs ?with a full-array, “local dimming” LED backlight tend to outperform their edge-lit LED brethren by a not insubstantial margin. We've covered the particulars of LED backlight tech before, so I won't get...

Sony Bravia XBR-55HX950

Sony's flagship may be pricey, but it's a quality performer all-around.

A quality, yet pricey, flagship television

Excellent LED Great black levels

Excellent PQ. This may be the last full array local dimming set manufactured. Hoping this set lasts @least 10 yrs. by then 4 K should be reasonable priced. Excellent motion handling for fast paced sports. No blooming, flashlighting or DSE on my set....

Gorilla Glass, thin profile looks nice on wall when turned off. Excellent PQ. Inky blacks

Price- should be a $2700 set
