Sony KD-55XF9005 Review | Trusted Reviews

A great start to Sony's 2018 TV campaign

Full array direct LED backlight ; Dynamic HDR performance ; Netflix, Amazon and YouTube in 4K

Disjointed Android/YouView user experience ; High input lag

When it comes to sports and movies, the XF90 absolutely nails it.

Sony KD-55XF9005 (XF90/X900F) review: Is this the best mid-range TV yet?

With stunning HDR, superb motion handling and top-notch upscaling, Sony's XF90 is set to take the mid-range TV market by storm

Sharp motion ; Impactful HDR presentation ; Class-leading upscaling

Limited viewing angles ; 1080p input lag not as low as rivals ; May not fit on narrower TV stands

The Sony XF90 marks a confident step forward from last year's successful XE90. With a brighter, more impactful HDR performance, incoming Dolby Vision support, and superbly smooth motion thanks to the X-Motion Clarity technology, the XF90 is a force to...

Sony XF90 (KD-55XF9005) Review

Sony's new BRAVIA XF90 TV promises a full array backlight with local dimming, the X1 Extreme Processor and Dolby Vision support via a firmware update –...

Good image accuracy out of the box for SDR ; Good accuracy out of the box for HDR ; Strong inky black levels with FALD backlight and VA panel ; Excellent video processing ; Excellent lag time for 4K gaming ; Supports HDR10 and HLG

Android OS and Smart system is terrible ; Feels underpowered for the OS it is running ; Lag time more for 1080p gaming ; No Dolby Vision support yet ; Only two 18Gbps HDMI inputs

There is no doubt that when it comes to outright picture quality the Sony XF90 excels for an LCD LED TV. Used squarely as a monitor for your HD and 4K sources it performs to a very high level with excellent motion, colours and contrast performance....

Great display you would not regret

I bought this model after comparing with other Sony models that are cheaper models and also other competitors. Sony's tv is always a bit expensive but this one is worth to spend that money.

Excellent Picture Quality.

I'd written a full-length review that got deleted when this page refreshed itself so I'm just going to summarise: Excellent hardware. Laggy software. Manual Oreo update supposedly improves this. Disabling Youview supposedly improves this too. Had...

Excellent sharp image

I bought this after seeing a 43in my father had purchased. The picture clarity is excellent, going from a 40in HD to 55in 4K so glad I finally upgraded. Also the Android UI makes a perfect combination.
