Sony Bravia KDL-55HX800

The 55-inch LED-backlit Bravia KDL-55HX800 delivers solid 3D imagery, and an even-better 2D picture. Features are plentiful, but you'll pay dearly for this cutting-edge HDTV.

3D-ready. Very good 3D and 2D picture quality. Attractive cabinet. Plenty of Web apps.

Expensive. 3D glasses and transmitter cost extra. Some minor backlight blooming. Glasses are heavy and can become a bit uncomfortable when worn for long periods.

With Peyton Manning and Justin Timberlake pushing their 3D efforts, Sony is back in the game with a powerful LED HDTV that is very capable in the 2D space as well as with 3D content possibly even fed from a Sony Playstation 3. ...

The KDL-55HX800 is 3D-ready

You must purchase the necessary 3D glasses and 3D sync transmitter separately ; Edge-lit LED-based LCD TVs can suffer from brightness-uniformityissues. We have not yet tested the DynamicEdge technology to see if itactually improves black-level...

Sony Amazes Me

All in all its a good TV if its on sale. regular price you might want to cough up the extra for the widget pro model. But if you get this one you wont be disappointing i know I'm not.

LED Slim ; 55" Inch ; Invisible Speaker System ; Light Weight (Really 60Lbs Tops) ; Contrast Ration isn't mentioned but on Sony's website it describes it as "Infinite" were it auto adjust depending on how dark the color will get ; Image Adjustments...

My first major con is the response time Sony should be better. sometimes while flipping through channels it gets stuck and then flips through the channels after a sec ; No widgets(not much of a con for me) ; Feels Flimsy(Delicate) was very nervous...

Very good, but...

Great Picture, good feature set. Power up is a little slow for my taste. Very thin, looks great on the wall. No 3D glasses and you need an 3D Sync Transmitter?? The glasses are $100 to $150 and the Transmitter is another $35 to $50. So for my Family...

Nice picture, lots of features, very thin ;

Startup and Software is sluggish, no 3D glasses included, 3D Sync Transmitter necessary ;

Very Nice HDTV, but arrived DOA

AIT shipping was in a word, "unique". The tracking system is hard to understand and our television was actually delivered by a guy in a white Toyota pickup truck. The AIT shipping system is very strange. Delivery took 5 business days (One calendar...

Very sleek design, excellent set of features, superb contrast ratio. I had done months of research and ultimately decided on this panel. The colors are accurate, resulting in amazing looking 1080i and 1080p output. The bezel is sleek and a...

Unit arrived with bad LCD panel. On the second day of owning this new TV set (after about 3 or 4 hours of total use), we turned on our new television to discover several vertical lines on the LCD. Saddened we knew that we couldn't exchange the TV...

Pretty Good

Another thing you are going to want to disable is the ambient light sensor. When I first used the TV, I thought everything was kind of dull.. whites were really grey.. I figured there must be a setting to improve this.. Thats when I discovered the...

I picked up this TV from a local store where I live. My first impressions were off the charts. This TV looks AMAZING with most content. I have not spent the extra $200 for the 3D transmitter/glasses yet, so I can't comment on the 3D quality. I was a...

I get some clouding in dark scenes.. This isn't a problem for 90 percent of content.. But for darker scenes it can be distracting. You notice the clouding mostly during credits and older hand drawn animated movies that have a dark scene.. It isn't that...
