TCL 55RP620K Review: Plenty of smarts and value | Trusted Reviews

The TCL 55RP620K packs plenty of value into its affordable price, but it's not quite as good in the performance dept as the Hisense Roku TVs.

Excellent value ; Great smarts and accessible interface ; Dolby Vision support ; Quick gaming performance

Picture quality could use more expression ; Some overheating issues

TCL 55RP620K review

All the apps and most of the performance too

Complex, natural colours ; Good contrast control ; Superb smart platform

Short on dark detail ; No motion processing ; Sound lacks weight

A grown-up performance for picture and sound make this another great Roku TV for the UK market.

TCL RP620K Roku TV review

Budget TVs with good screens and smart features can be hard to come by, but the TCL RP620K Roku TV is a solid option with many sizes under £500

Roku streaming platform ; Freeview Play ; Dolby Vision support

Peak HDR brightness under par ; 1080p upscaling could be better

The Roku streaming platform provides a surprisingly engaging TV interface on this affordable 4K flatscreen. But picture quality is understandably limited in some areas.

TCL 55RP620K review: Big and smart, but not that bright

This big-screen budget TV benefits from Roku's brilliant user interface and surprisingly good image quality, but HDR misses the mark

Slick, easy-to-use interface ; All the key streaming services ; Good image quality in SDR

Narrow viewing angles ; Not bright enough for HDR

It isn’t a surprise to find that a £349 TV has limitations, however. What is a surprise is how competent the TCL is at everything else and, in all honesty, it’s still very watchable in HDR as long as you dim the lights and manage your expectations.

TCL RP620K (55RP620K) 4K HDR Roku TV review

Find out how our TV expert got on with the wallet-friendly TCL Roku TV.

Excellent Roku smart platform ; Freeview Play ; Stonking value ; Low input lag

HDR not the brightest ; 1080p upscaling could be better ; Audio performance is average

If you’re after a modestly priced large screen smart TV, this Roku-centric offering is well worth shortlisting. Picture performance is impressive with 4K Dolby Vision content, images are pin-sharp and vibrant, and the Roku smart platform is brilliantly...
