Vizio D series 2017 (D65-E0 and D55-E0) review

I like a lot of Vizio's TVs for the level of image quality they achieve for a budget price, but their "series" can be a sprawling, incomprehensible mess. And the 2017 D series is the messiest one yet, making it tough for buyers to separate the...

Two Vizio D series models offer very good picture quality, thanks to local dimming, and are among the least expensive TVs available in their size range.

The Smart TV system is dated and significantly worse than competing Roku TVs.

As some of the cheapest TVs with local dimming and a very good picture, two members of Vizio's D series are excellent values.

Vizio D Series 1080p 2017 TV

The Vizio D Series 1080p 2017 is a mediocre Full HD LED Smart TV with a wide viewing angle. It has a low input lag for gaming and a decent handling of motion, but its picture quality is poor due to its non-uniform screen and low brightness. Its Smart...

Vizio D Series 1080p 2016 TV

The Vizio D Series 1080p 2016 is a good budget LED TV. It performs good enough across the board, with average-good picture quality. It handles motion very well. Note: this review is for the 1080p variant of the D Series. We reviewed the 4k UHD...

Good basic picture quality. ; Low input lag and motion blur, which is great for video games.

Loss of picture quality at an angle. ; Cable and DVDs look slightly blurrier than most TVs.

Vizio D-Series D65-E0 TV Review: Big-Screen Value

If you're after a big-screen 4K set and don't care about snazzy online offerings or having the absolutely latest features, the 65-inch Vizio D-Series set is a good choice. It doesn't have the subtlety or ultimate punch of more expensive sets that have...

Respectable 4K picture detail ; Decent blacks for an LCD ; Good overall value

Poor smart TV interface ; No HDR support

The Vizio D-Series D65-E0 offers no-nonsense Ultra HD LCD performance in a big 65-inch size for less than $900.
