Vizio M series (2015) review

Finally, I can wholeheartedly recommend a 4K TV. Not because its higher pixel count makes a major difference in picture quality -- it still doesn't and 4K content in the wild is still as scarce as giant pandas -- but because it finally offers a better...

The Vizio M series is one of the least-expensive 4K TVs you can buy. Its picture quality, thanks to full-array local dimming, delivers deep black levels and excellent contrast for an LCD TV. Color accuracy and some aspects of video processing are...

Competing 4K TVs offer better video processing and more accurate color prior to picture-setting calibration. Only one HDMI input is compatible both HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2. The silver finish doesn't blend in as well as black would.

The Vizio M series sits at this year's sweet spot of price and picture, and just happens to be 4K too.

Great price and an excellent picture.

In November 2015 we bought the Vizio 70 inch M Series 4K TV for our family room. Before this our "large" TV was a mortal Panasonic 42 inch G15 Plasma TV set up in our living room. This was a highly rated TV for its time and it still looks great. We...

Love the size (70 Inch) and the picture quality.

We haven't found anything that we don't like.

Good TV but flops on being a "smart TV"

At first I thought it was Comcast failing to provide adequate bandspeed, but using Speednet with my iPhone I'm getting 40-50 mbps at my Vizio M55-C2. However, I only get 7-17 mbps (converted numbers) at the TV when it recommended a minimum of 12 (1.5...

Great price (at Costco), good picture

Poor WiFi despite excellent bandspeed either wired or wirelessly

Pay the man to calibrate it or don't bother buying

I bought the 70-inch M Series late in January, 2016 mostly based on the CNET review and obviously the price. I was torn between the Vizio and the more expensive Samsung, which came with the free Geek Squad setup and calibration. Thinking I could use...

Size and price

Poor picture quality, mediocre sound and difficult calibration

Great Features. Great Price. Tier 2 (or below) Build Quality.

I use CNET extremely actively (and often) to make buy decisions on consumer electronics and audio/visual equipment.

Price point and technical specifications

Glaring manufacturing defect. Mediocre design quality that is "functional" at best.

Great TV!

I really wish this TV had a stand on which it could swivel. The performance of the set itself is fantastic, but that would make it far better. (Also, the two feet mean the base takes up more real estate on my credenza than I'd like.) The set also sits...

Amazing picture quality, great blacks.

No swivel stand.

So far, so good.

I like the television. The colors are rich and it has a great contrast ratio. I calibrated it according to the settings CNET recommended, but it looks awful dark overall and a bit dull. I'm unsure if it will "warm up" over time due to the LEDs getting...

Local dimming delivers great dark levels

Vizio logo on screen when you turn it on takes too long to go away

Amazing value for money

Got mine 6 months back. Primarily use for gaming (PS4) and some Netflix. I have absolutely no complaints. I never experienced anything close to a "soap-opera effect" and the refresh rate is top notch for my games. I took my PS to my in-laws who had a...

Sound quality, Picture quality, Inexpensive, Keyboard remote

Excellent TV, and upgrade at a lower price

In recent years, I've had high end Sony's, a top LG, and a couple lower end Vizio and Toshiba HDTVs. Except for the 24" Vizio and a 40" Toshiba, all were 50 to 55" displays.

Video image, image adjustments, ease of setup

Lack of internet browser
