Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000

The Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 is a well-rounded Webcam with ample adjustability and a solid software package, making it a good option for users at any level of expertise.

Clear picture for video and still shots; vibrant colors; "boosts" for different lighting situations; sensitive microphone; headset included.

Whites are blown out in dim settings; some digital noise in black backgrounds; privacy shield comes off too easily; camera is too easy to remove from stand.

The Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 is a well-rounded Webcam with ample adjustability and a solid software package, making it a good option for users at all levels of expertise.

The Logitech QuickCam Pro 5000 offers a satisfying variety of features in a webcam that is easy to use. The suggested retail price isn't the greatest, but the Pro 5000 works well in most situations.

Good image and audio quality, includes a built-in microphone

No manual focus ring, no face tracking feature, privacy shield is flimsy

A webcam is just a webcam right? Well maybe not given that the quality of so many of them plain suck!We've been putting the Quickcam Pro 5000 through it's paces and playing with the face tracking technology too.

how to stop the static noise in WinXP

Video is very good.

Some Logitech driver conflicts with WinXP, causing intermittent static noise during mp3 and other sound playback on XP.

Works with Mac.

It has worked perfectly with Skype and Yahoo Messenger for Mac.

Works perfectly with my Mac mini without needing to install any special drivers. Image quality is great. All I did was plug it in to my viewsonic Monitor's USB hub and it was instantly recognized and worked right away with Skype. Some webcam don't work...

The privacy cover comes off way too easily. I wish it was designed a little better

Good for chatting. This won't show blemishes, so the user tend to look better

Colors are a little off. A little lighting change makes a big difference in colors
