First impressions...

I think this camera needs to send a stream of still photos refreshed at variously available intervals rather than a stream of stop-and-start video and audio. If you possess the ability to open a defined port in your router and can instruct it to...

For the sale price I paid, not bad - at least, not yet. Good picture, decent video that speeds-up, slows-down, occasionally stops - and then re-starts. The provided setup routine is fine if you have no networking knowledge and no need to access the...

If you don't have networking knowledge and want to access the camera's output from the web beyond your LAN - this probably is not the camera for you. The IP cameras from some other manufacturers offer more robust automatic set-up routines - for a...

RUN RUN AWAY! If you want WIRELESS

If the wireless woudl work, they would be a GREAT product. But the simple truth is that the wireless does not work. It way come on for 5 seconds or so, but then goes black and does not come back on without a complete reconfiguration. I have a high...

Nice looking. Come with all hardware to hang. Good color and picture. Great price

Great little webcam

I liked the first one so much I bought another. Also have 3 other Trendnet wifi cams (for 2+ years). Easy setup. Created a webpage that displays static pics of all 5. Can monitor my dog, weather, and vacation home all in one click. Also good for...

Reliable. Quick to jump on the network if unplugged/power lost. Decent low-light pictures. Audio is very sensitive, but requires a decent internet connection. Clear picture for a 640x480 cam- somewhat better than my other Trendnet cams (not nearly as...

Viewing angle is very narrow. Wish there was a wider-angle lens available, haven't found one yet. Tried the trick of a door peep hole, and although it did work, sort of, it gives a tunnel effect, so I gave up ; Minor con, but I wish the video...

Just fine

Lots of users complaining about not being able to route the video to the Internet. I'm not sure what this has to do with the camera. It works fine. You have to configure your router. Assign the camera a static IP address to make it simpler.

Decent looking color video. Does well outside so long as protected from rain. Audio works decent. Has basic FTP interface so I can do lots of scripting things from Linux with video

Web interface does not support Firefox well. Audio has an echo. Need Windoz to get it set up

Not reliable

I am computer analyst, knows computers/network very well, and very techy, the software/hardware definitely needs works. Do not buy.

works for a while

It works for about 30 mins, then it won't display any videos, although seems the web server within still functions, since I can click on different buttons on the monitor web page. If I power cycle the device, it would work again for about another 30...

TRENDnet Wireless IP Camera

Want me to tell you how I really feel? Also, why do I have to give it a one egg rating when it deserves a 0 egg rating.

None

Wireless doesn't work. Wrote to the company and they didn't seem to care. Obviously whoever responded to my email did his job great as they read through the standard 'blow you off' flip chart. You know things like, did you turn off virus protection...

Update to my earlier review

Actually, in order for the vid to be available outside of your home network you have to fool with port forwarding, etc. I haven't gotten that far yet although I did got to the portforwarding website to gain some knowledge on this. Some addl knowledge...

Pretty good

Lots of settings and options I don't understand for wireless networks but in my home situation I did get it working and it is avail to others via internet using a numerical URL that is easy to forget. wish i could assign it a named url people could...

No PC necessary once up and running. I got it to work

No remote focus- you have to manual focus via the focus ring on the camera. Tough to do even if a pc screen is only a few feet away since you need to be close to screen to set the sharpest focus

TRENDnet Wireless-G IP Camera with 1 detachable dipole antenna, 1 way Audio (TV-IP501W)

good camera for inside, a great baby monitor

e-mail feature does not work with popular mail services (google, yahoo, msn, etc,) . . . camera goes blind viewing high light exterior scenes (e.g., snow)

Not very good

I'm a system administrator and programmer (retired). I would not recommend for a security camera on that one or the software. You will have to 'open' port 80 (or whatever port) on your modem to send it out to the internet for your picture or video and...

this setup works. wireless works

the picture is not very clear. there is a focus 'ring' around the lens. the motion detection does not work. I have it set up for my car, it will not recording with with the motion detection, or it will recording 100% of the time. nothing between, all...
