Only local machine video capture?

I am not sure why I keep giving TrendNet a chance... I am going to give this a couple more days, but after that I am going to have to conclude that they (or their software) is defective and return them.

It was relatively cheap and the resolution is fairly decent.

The mounts are a minor pain to adjust, but once you move things a couple times it wasn't much of an issue. The only way I seem to be able to configure these things in order to save video is to use a browser and hit the record button. I can't seem to...

Great Camera, Not for the beginner

some of the people who gave it bad reviews should have did their homework better before buying this camera. it is a stand alone product meaning you need to build a system when buying this camera. no power source is included because trendnet gives you...

sturdy camera housing, well built for outdoor use. i like using POE as much as possible, it makes installing the camera easy with only one cable. you don't have to run an external power source to the camera. connects to your home network for easy...

trendnet software is a bit cumbersome to use. installs easy on windows but the configuration can be sort of a PITA. there are a lot of options within their software and can get confusing. you need to know something about networks and IP addresses when...

Great camera but killed the user experience with terrible software

Would I buy this again, knowing the software has improved- YES! Until the software is improved upon, I would not recommend this product. But since this review is on the camera itself, and not the software. Even though the software is used with the...

The camera is built with good quality. The feel of the camera is that this camera can last when outdoors. The resolution is pretty decent for the price. The camera is reasonably small for the size and easy to hide, yet get a decent camera view of the...

The software to set this camera up is absolutely in desperate need to be sent back to the drawing board. The software has no easy to use wizard to set this up. It actually takes some time and knowledge to configure. The amount of time to configure the...

Nice hardware with many faults

Pretty much comes as a dead device. There is no option for providing power included in the packaging. Make sure you already own or purchase a power-over-ethernet switch setup or the "optional" DC power adapter from TrendNet. If you are using Linux...

Has decent quality video (960p). Has motion detection for security. ~80' of decent quality night vision. Can use mobile App to view live feed. Overall offers good security options compared to similarly priced networked cameras.

Comes with no DC power adapter. Comes with no PoE(Power over Ethernet) switch. Had/have to run setup and any management through Windows based system because there is no support for Linux OS. Very short Ethernet & power cable built-in. Cutout for...

Camera requires proprietary software to setup.

I thought that I had done my homework on this one. Before I decided to order this product, I had downloaded and carefully read the user guide for this product. According to the user guide the video feed is accessible through standard HTTP or RTSP....

Looks nice and has a sturdy feel to it. I was able to return this camera without much hassle.

This camera cannot be properly configured until one installs a suspicious proprietary platform-specific executable. Otherwise, many important camera configuration pages do nothing. Wanting to avoid a return, I attempted to work with customer service to...

Good quality sound but...

Not PoE only out of the box (as another poster mentioned). Camera has DC power jack for 12VDC @ 1A supplies.

Works with Zoneminder 1.25 too ; A pretty feature filled camera. The webinterface is ok -- I used Firefox to admin it ; Lots of features I didn't try (like NAS and email storage) as I'm using the units with Zoneminder ; Good image. Good low-light...

There's an inlet on the skirt of the mounting plate. It can let bugs in and then in through the hole needed to run the camera cable behind the plate. Make sure to fill ; The switch from Color to B/W is a little slow - might cause some issues with DVR...
