Metroid: Other M

New video games are released each week. Some of them are more exciting than anything we've seen before and some are not. Some are incredible experiences that push the medium forward and some are content to rely on past accomplishments to generate...

Metroid: Other M (Wii) Review

Metroid tries a combination of third and first person. Can it pull of both, or does it suffer from trying to do too much? Find out inside.

Overall, Metroid fans should definitely pick this game up to see the continuation after Super Metroid. Wii owners ought to check this out as well for a solid Wii title that's a lot of fun to play.

Metroid: Other M

When I initially started Metroid: Other M, I could not help but feel disappointed. Sure, it felt like Metroid to an extent, but something was off. That something was my expectations of what Metroid 'is' supposed to be. So, realizing this, I liberated...

Another side of Samus.

Those tweaks are marginal compared to the inspired decision to shift from third- to first-person perspective when pointing the Wii-mote at the screen. It’s logical, but proves aggravating during firefights, and irritating in mandatory Where’s...

Team Ninja is anything but an obvious choice to make a new Metroid title. The Japanese developer, known for the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series aren't exactly known for the same type of games that Nintendo is known for making. Metroid: Other M...

Stick with for cheats for Metroid: Other M as they become available.

Metroid Other M

As sci-fi action adventure games on Wii go, Metroid Other M is spectacular. Stack it up against any given game in the genre for other systems and this latest Samus outing is just typically good.

Exclusive to almost every game system Nintendo has ever made, the Metroid series has long been lauded as the pinnacle of sci-fi action adventure. But that's only if you put the blinders on and forget that there are other game companies out there, other...

It's not great for a Metroid game, but there is some fun to be had... after the credits roll.

Gorgeous graphics ; Clever, imaginative design ; Boss fan service ; Great use of ambient noise

Overall story is pretty terrible ; Samus's voice actress might be a microwave ; The game doesn't really start until the post-game scenario ; Iffy controls, especially the perspective-shifting ; No new suit or weapon upgrades

I guess what I was trying to get at though is that they don't need to go to great lengths explaining how the suit works. In the realm of science fiction, you can usually formulate some sort of plausible hand waving to make certain things work, whether...

Metroid Other M review

The last Metroid game on the Wii was the excellent Metroid Prime Corruption, followed by a re-release with a bundle which included the previous two GameCube titles. But those were first person shooters, the latest Metroid game is actually a side...

Great focus on story ; Lengthy, satisfying campaign

No multiplayer ; Side scrolling is a hit and miss ; Controls can get confusing at times

"OtherSteve" reviews the "other" Metroid

Metroid: Other M is a tough one, and I expect reviews will be scattered widely across the spectrum. While its implementation of the 2-D/3-D hybrid perspective and basic controls work well, far more tampering has occurred here, and much of it for the...

Exciting, alien-blasting action -- interspersed with boring, interminable cut-scenes.
