Mini review: Our quick verdict on the Moto G4 and G4 Plus

The Moto G4 Plus finally brings a great camera into Motorola's budget lineup. It's decently fast for the price, though the build quality might not last years of use.

Inexpensive ; Large, vibrant screen ; Solid performance for the price

Camera suffers severely in low light ; Plastic build might not be durable ; Not waterproof like last year

Moto G4 review

The Moto G4 is the best phone you can buy for $200, but please pay $50 more for the Moto G4 Plus.

If there’s a better smartphone on the market for $200, then we want to hear about it. The only device that even holds a candle to it is the $200 Huawei Honor 5X, an all-metal smartphone with nearly the same specs sheet and a fingerprint sensor....

Moto G4 review: Lenovated

The Moto G became the go-to phone for many people that wanted no fuss and guaranteed quality at an affordable quality. Now the line is under new leadership, with new branding and retooled design.

Motorola Moto G4 review

Since we first reviewed the Moto G4 and G4 Plus, Motorola has kept busy, expanding the Moto line to include even less expensive variants of their flagship budget phone.

The Moto G4's big, bold screen and junk-free software make it a pleasure to use throughout the day. Its ability to survive a dunking will appeal to the clumsy among us.

Processor performance is great for everyday tasks, but gamers will want to shop elsewhere.

With its big, bold screen, water-resistant design and rock-bottom price, the Moto G4 is a dazzling deal.

Motorola Moto G4

Motorola's Moto G4 is a relatively affordable midrange phone with a mix of capable hardware and broad support for all major carriers. It's a good option for budget buyers.

Relatively affordable. LTE bands for all carriers. Crisp 1080p display. Solid battery life. Dual-band Wi-Fi. Expandable storage. Latest software and no bloatware.

Non-removable battery. Can't handle high-end games.

Software and Conclusions Unlike many other midrange phones, the G4 comes with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow , and it has no significant UI changes, aside from Motorola ID in the settings menu which links to your Motorola account . Most significantly,...

Motorola Moto G4 ( white)

Competition in the budget arena has never been more fierce, but the newest fourth-generation Moto G continues to hold its own thanks to a host of hardware upgrades, including a larger and brighter 5.5-inch, full HD display and faster octa-core...

Moto G4 Review 2016

It's time again to review Motorola's budget king devices, starting with the base device Moto G. Two devices come this year - for some odd reason - both the Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus (or Moto G4+ if you prefer). These devices have very similar...

If you want to spend no more than $200 (plus whatever tax is in order) on a smartphone, Moto G4 is still the best smartphone on the market. Motorola’s industrial design may have become a bit more bland this time around, but the device is right on the...

Lenovo Moto G4 Smartphone Review

Little brother. We liked the Moto G4 Plus, and now we can review the slightly slimmed-down Moto G4. What are the differences?

very bright display ; ergonomic case ; modern Android ; practical runtimes ; USB-OTG ; heavily customizable ; small number of preloaded apps ; decent cameras

mediocre microphone quality ; battery not replaceable ; no NFC ; GPS not always accurate ; power adapter can get hot

Put the Moto G4 and the Moto G4 Plus next to each other, and you will only be able to differentiate the two models by the fingerprint scanner. The inner values of the two smartphones are also very similar and only details are different, but they might...

The Moto G4 is still our favorite budget phone of the 20 we've tested recently, but we have new ultrabudget and upgrade picks.

Motorola Moto G4 review

The Motorola G4 does everything you could ask of a mid-range phone. Running Android M, it's strongest features are probably its high resolution 5.5 inch screen and its larger-than-average battery. It's water-repellent too, with an 8-core processor,...

The Moto G4 is a safe mid-range buy. With an almost pure implementation of Android, a fast-enough processor, sufficient memory and a decent camera, it ensures that you get a good all-round phone experience. The strong battery life and large screen are...
