LG BL40 New Chocolate review: Chef's best

It was handsets like the original Chocolate that put LG on the map. But simply playing with the big boys was never going to be enough. It takes creativity to outsmart and outdo some formidable rivals. LG never shied...

One-off touchscreen bar design ; 4.01" 16M-color capacitive touchscreen of 21:9 aspect ratio ; Quad-band GSM support and UMTS with HSDPA 7.2 Mbps ; S-Class Touch UI with pinch zooming and gesture controls ; Accelerometer for screen auto-rotation ;...

Single-handed use not too comfortable due to the extra long form factor ; Video recording output is pathetic ; Piano black surface is a fingerprint nightmare ; Memory card slot is under the battery cover ; Web browser has no Flash support ; No video...

LG BL40 review

You know the deal by now: we grab a slab of fresh new hardware, fiddle, play, and tinker with it until exhaustion or boredom is reached, then wax poetic about the whole experience, with a side serving of pictures and videos thrown in. Today's candidate...

Unique form factor and oodles of style ; Excellent voice and audio clarity ; Large, clear, high-res display

Unwieldy UI ; Middling battery life ; Awkward dimensions reduce usability

LG BL40 New Chocolate Review

LG BL40 is LG's new breed of chocolate, that comprises all the company's technologies. The phone is stuffed with every piece of technology that LG is capable to reproduce at the moment, and no rebate has been done to that. LG BL40 is a premium handset,...

Everything about this phone seems to be great, starting with its amazing bar design and finishing with its reshaped S-Class UI. The main highlights of the phone include: HSDPA 7.2 Mbps, huge 4.0-inch capacitive touch screen, 5-megapixel camera with...

The most annoying thing I found is the lack of Flash for support for the web browser and the fact that the phone is a fingerprint magnet. The latter requires users to keep an all-time dedicated cloth to wipe the handset. Other minor downsides of the...

LG BL40 Review Part-1: Design

Now we've had the LG BL40 for quite some time and we've used it quite a bit here and there. So much so that it's apt to talk about the design of this phone.

LG New Chocolate BL40 Review - Different kind of taste

It was a smart move from LG to name a unique phone after everyone's favorite treat. And although the LG Chocolate BL40 is not really the first phone to be named ‘Chocolate' (it's actually called ‘New Chocolate'), the label actually fit the phone quite...

Novel design, improved S-Class interface ; Dolby Mobile enhancement, Wi-Fi ; Multi-tasking, good still imaging

Poor battery life, below average response ; few application integration, fingerprint ; and scratch-prone surface at the back

Having said what we did in the last section of this review, the LG Chocolate is definitely a different kind of taste that not everyone will get to appreciate. The phone’s features make it a promising smartphone, but it still isn’t. The interface is...

LG New Chocolate BL40 Review

The lock screen can be unlock via swiping the wallpaper upwards or clicking the power button once. However, I find it easier to go from sleep mode to active mode by clicking on the music button (wake up) and swiping the wallpaper up (unlock).

LG New Chocolate BL40

The LG Chocolate BL40 Black Label Series is LG's newest multimedia phone. This extra-tall candy bar touchscreen phone makes a great first impression but is it all skin-deep? Check out our full review after the jump.

LG Chocolate BL40

A tasty treat for the fashion conscious user and tech geek alike. A real alternative to Apple's iPhone

Distinctive looks, great features and intuitive usability are the BL40's strong points. While not perfect, this Chocolate is a worthwhile buy.
