LG GW520 review: A wholesome Cookie

QWERTY is how the Cookie crumbles and LG are quite keen to build on a winning concept. And they sure didn't work themselves to the bone. When you've got a Best Handset nominee (LG KS360) and a mid-range bestseller (LG KP500)...

2.8" 256K-color TFT touchscreen (240 x 400 pixels) ; Friendly four-row slide-out QWERTY keyboard ; Quad-band GSM and dual-band 3G (with HSDPA) support ; 3 megapixel fixed focus camera ; Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP ; 40MB internal memory ; Hot-swappable...

No Wi-Fi ; Video recording no good at QVGA@12fps ; Camera has no auto focus or flash ; No DivX/Xvid video support ; No standard 3.5mm audio jack ; Facebook is the only social networking app and it lacks Push

Wi-Fi support would have gained the GW520 lots of extra points against the competition. But then, that would’ve involved so much smartphone pressure, which the GW520 is definitely not prepared to handle. In a way, the handset can be construed as a...

LG GW520

Other than a few cosmetic changes, the GT500 and GT505 seem to be identical. Both are touchscreen phones with a 3" 400 x 240 pixel touchscreen display, 5 megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi and 3.5G support. The GT505 comes with a 30 day trial of the WisePilot...

LG GW525 review

Over the past couple of months we have seen a bunch of phones with full qwerty keypads aimed at regular users. These include the Samsung Corby TXT and the CorbyPRO and now the LG GW525. If you engage in heavy messaging throughout the day, then this is...

The LG GW525 appears expensive when compared with similarly priced phones. It has that excellent keyboard and touchscreen, and enjoys decent media playback, but we don't like the sluggish interface, the camera is awful and there are too many high-end...

LG GW525

The LG GW525 has a great QWERTY keyboard but is beset by problems such as a bad camera and a sluggish interface.

Great Keyboard ; Decent Music Playback ; Responsive Touchscreen

Sluggish Interface ; No Wi-Fi, GPS ; Horrible Camera

The LG GW525 is priced at Rs. 13,990 and when we look at other phones available around that price, it appears expensive. Yes, there is the keyboard but the Samsung Corby Pro also offers the same keyboard and is priced less too.

LG GW525

Straddled with a QWERTY keypad and a touch screen, this is the new contender in the already crowded smartphone market

Good touch interface ; 8GB expandable memory

Poor battery life ; No Wi-Fi
