Motorola RAZR MAXX review: Power ranger

Motorola achieved the unthinkable with the RAZR MAXX. A 9mm body, which is slim even by today's modern standards, fits a battery that dwarfs all others. With the CDMA version our all-time battery backup champion, it's now time to see how the GSM holds...

Massive 3,300mAh battery in 9mm splash resistant body, Kevlar back ; Quad-band GSM and quad-band 3G with HSDPA and HSUPA ; 4.3" 16M-color capacitive SuperAMOLED touchscreen of qHD resolution (960 x 540 pixels, 256ppi), scratch-resistant Gorilla glass ;...

Bigger than other phones with the same screen size ; Screen uses PenTile matrix (offset by high ppi); a little dim too ; No FM radio ; No dedicated shutter key ; Non-user-replaceable battery

We're at the end of this review and we're quite happy with how it all went. The Motorola RAZR MAXX may use older hardware, but we didn't find it lacking severely in any respect.

Motorola Razr Maxx smartphone Review

At last, a phone that won't die on you.

excellent battery life, decent video recording, great build quality

older Android OS, occasional snags with camera quality, average screen

On the top of the phone are ports for headphones, USB connectivity, and mini-HDMI. The right side has a small but easy to press power button as well as volume controls. At the bottom left side is a small panel that hides slots for your SIM card as well...

Motorola Razr Maxx

We have been using the Motorola Razr for quite a long time now. It's a phone that we've honestly fallen in love with. It's styling is unique and interesting, it's tough without looking like a builder's phone and it's been a sturdy and reliable...

Epic battery life, the Razr is still a great phone, speedy for day-to-day use

Loses a little of its good looks to the larger battery, still no Ice Cream Sandwich, quite expensive

In terms of the phone hardware, not much has changed here since the last Razr. The Maxx isn't as striking to look at, and its name is twice as stupid as the already absurd Razr, but it's still a great phone.

Motorola RAZR Maxx review

Motorola's RAZR is back and this time it's got a not-so-hidden trick in the bulky shape of a supersized battery. Is it enough to see of the competition?

Watch out BlackBerry, there's a new business phone in town – and the Motorola RAZR MAXX has got stamina

Motorola RAZR MAXX review

When the Motorola RAZR launched late last year, it had everything we wanted from an Android smartphone. It still stands up well today - six months on - though it has been surpassed by the HTC One X and looks to be trumped by the imminent Samsung Galaxy...

If you want an Android smartphone with a long-lasting battery then buy a RAZR MAXX
