Nokia E61i review: Lens-wear for the messenger

You all know Nokia E61 – it's been among the most popular Nokia smartphones ever since it was presented. Its fans have always been divided over it not having a camera. Taking that into account Nokia decided to release an updated version of the handset...

The business messenger market though realized that office workers and businessmen need an all-in-one tool that would allow them to work efficiently during the day and to have fun or just relax in the evenings and weekend. So essentially it has come to...

Nokia E61i

Howdy, big boy! At 4.6 x 2.8 x 0.6 inches, the E61i dwarfs most handsets. Luckily, you won't care: Its roomy 2.8-inch screen and comfy keyboard make excellent

Handy thumbnail-driven history viewer in browser. Streams Flash and other videos. Nice collection of business and media apps, including a project team manager and RealPlayer. Almost 11 hours of talk time

So wide it barely feels like a phone. Accessing the microSD slot requires removing backplate. No stereo Bluetooth. Proprietary headphone jack

Nokia E61i

Oddly, the E61i also works over 3G data networks, just not ours. It supports only UMTS, not HSDPA, and only on the overseas 2,100-MHz band. That means the otherwise high-flying E61i still kicks it down to EDGE speeds when used Stateside.

Sleek enclosure with comfortable keyboard. Built-in Wi-Fi. Great Web browser. Long battery life

Only supports high-speed UMTS overseas. No stereo Bluetooth support or built-in GPS

Nokia ups the ante with a welcome refresh to last year's well-liked E62 smartphone.

Nokia E61i Review

Nokia E61i is an enterprise phone loaded with features. It gives Blackberry handsets some serious competition.

If you are looking for a Communicator style smart phone with hell a lot of options at a affordable price go for this one. Camera is not the best. Battery backup is promising. Very Good blackberry alternative. The Nokia E61i retails at about in Chennai...

Nokia E61i Review

The Nokia E61i is a Symbian/S60 smartphone with an emphasis on business. It features a built-in keyboard, 3G cellular-wireless networking, and Wi-Fi. Antoine Wright has a review.

I leave the E61i feeling a bit like it was a great meal but my utinsels were dirty the whole time. The device itself was great. It crashed once, and other than that was very rock solid. I could overlook some of the UI items such as looking for wireless...

Nokia E61i Review

The E61i was released in an effort to correct issues with the original E61, and also to give the world audience something not named Treo or BlackBerry to consider when looking for a solid smartphone communicator

That being said, I would recommend it, especially if you aren't in a BlackBerry shop and are looking for something a bit less PDA-ish than a Treo or Windows Mobile device. The battery life and included applications make the E61i a much better showing...
