Samsung has made a kickass midrange phone

Samsung's 2017 version of its affordable Galaxy A7 packs beauty and performance in one affordable package.

The A7 looks just like the Galaxy S7 and has a 22-hour battery life. NFC means you can use Android Pay.

The phone is a fingerprint magnet and accidental palm presses make it hard to use one-handed. It also runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is... old.

If you're looking for a cheaper, pared-down version of the Samsung Galaxy S7, this is it.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) Review

Samsung released a pretty strong entrance in the mid-range Android segment with the waterproof 2017 A-series trio, and now we have the largest of them all – Galaxy A7 – to check out on. It shares specs with the A5, which we already reviewed – 14nm...

Excellent battery life ; Good call quality ; No need to restart and choose between a SIM/microSD card in the Duo version ; Polished, functional interface ; Water-tight chassis

Soft pictures ; Shaky video ; No 4K recording ; Big and fragile glass chassis ; Color temperature shifts when tilting the display

By now it must have become clear that we really liked this year's Galaxy A7 edition. Were it not for the many camera mishaps like the soft-ish pictures and shaky videos, it could have scored excellent on all counts.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) Review

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) is great for those willing to overlook specs, value, and features for a phone with terrific build quality and gorgeous looks.

Spotty performance ; Expensive ; Mediocre camera ; Lacks Nougat out of the box

Samsung Galaxy A7 review | Trusted Reviews

Samsung Galaxy A7 price, release, features and review: Samsung's latest mid-ranger is a surprisingly great phone that's worth a look.

High contrast OLED screen ; Ultra-wide camera is fun to shoot with ; Solid value

Weak GPU ; Slow charging ; Slightly soft main camera

A pleasant mid-range Android, if not the very best choice for enthusiasts on a budget.

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) review

It looks like the Samsung Galaxy S7 ( £448.00 at Amazon.co.uk ) , feels like the Samsung Galaxy S7, but isn't actually the S7. No it's the 2017 version of Samsung's midrange series, and it's a pretty good-looking phone at that. While it's no OnePlus 3T...

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) review: Premium design, great camera

Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) offers a premium design and look, but at a mid-range price. Read our full review

Yes, you can add this to your buy list, if you’re okay with the old version of Android. The highlight of this phone is the camera and the display, which is still unmatched by other players. The water and dust resistant capabilities are extra positives,...

Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 Review

The Samsung Galaxy A7 is for those who put design above all else, but it has some way to go before it can be called the best in its class.

Great premium design ; Great battery life

Sub-par performance

The Samsung Galaxy A7 is a well designed smartphone with good battery life. However, it does have its weaknesses, and isn't always dependable. The OnePlus 3T and Moto Z are faster, with better cameras. The Galaxy A7 is for those who put good looks...

Samsung Galaxy A7 Review: Galaxy S8 Style (For Half The Price)

Premium and waterproof design, Excellent display, Decent camera, Good battery life

Lacks high-end processor power, poor low-light photography

A very good mid-range smartphone with one of the best displays in this category.

Consumer review (cnet.com)

GOOD!

I am currently using the Samsung Galaxy S 7, which is inconvenient for the screen operation. It is because the screen is longer than the other screens next to the screen.

Galaxy A looks great, yes!I wanted to try it!

I don't think there's much of a disadvantage.
