HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-One Review: A Superfast PC That Fizzles

Trying to dig up a low-cost, all-in-one, business-class desktop system that doesn't stink is a bit like trying to find a magic lamp in a cave: It's a daunting proposition, to say the least. And the HP Compaq 8200 Elite all-in-one desktop doesn't make...

Superfast general performance ; Integrated 802.11n connectivity

Limited connection options ; Below-average storage capacity

If speed is the name of your game, you won’t be disappointed by this business-class, all-in-one system. But that’s all it really brings to the table.

HP Compaq 8200 Elite USDT

The desktop comes with two laptop-style drives: a 2.5-inch 250GB hard drive and a tray-loading DVD burner. This setup has plusses and minuses. The hard drive can be swapped out for another solution in some configurations, but both the spinning hard...

Compact form factor. Includes MXM card slot. SSD option available

Uses notebook-class hard and optical drives, external power supply. Not expandable. No HDMI, USB 3.0, eSATA ports. Limited capacity storage. Replacing hard drive somewhat involved

The HP Compaq 8200 Elite USDT is a compact desktop that isn't burdened by legacy hardware, which makes it a good choice for businesses dealing mainly with information on the LAN or on the Internet.

HP Compaq 8200 Elite Ultra-slim PC (XZ788UT)

Of course, as the name indicates, this is a small-bodied computer, intended for situations where space savings matter. As a result, you have to temper your expectations in certain ways. This model doesn't offer the same range of upgrade and...

Performs well for price ; Compact design ; Supports Intel vPro technology ; Eco-friendly manufacturing ; Above-average warranty

Limited upgrade potential ; Bundled keyboard, mouse use PS/2

Excellent speed for the money, plus handy management features and a long warranty, make the 8200 Elite a winning compact PC for business.

HP Compaq 8200 Elite

Sleek and minimalistic, this all-in-one PC packs a performance wallop with a blazing CPU, cavernous disk memory and extremely capable video. An abundance of input and output methods receive and share digital data.

The warranty is for a generous three years, and there is a next-day service for parts and labor

No complaints, but if you need a touch screen this is not the particular HP computer for you

The HP Compaq 8200 Elite is a superb all-in-one computer.

HP Compaq 8200 Elite Ultra-slim Review

Here's one reason why you should be interested in the HP Compaq 8200 Elite Ultra Slim for your business use: It's fast. The company decided to slap an Intel Sandy Bridge processor into its reasonably priced £838 business desktop. Alas, this speedy CPU...

HP has strapped a speedy Sandy Bridge CPU into an antiquated system design, delivering strong performance for a business class desktop, but not much else.

HP Compaq 8200 Elite All-in-one review

So how does the Compaq 8200 Elite stack up? Though slightly slower and slightly smaller (at a screen size of 21.5in), Lenovo's ThinkCentre M91z trades a performance difference of 8% for a full touchscreen, identical storage capacity, and support for...

Didn't work

Glad Newegg has a good return policy.

Looks nice. Liked that it is a horizontal business type computer

Could not load the O/S, therefore it did not work. Contacted HP and they said it was probably a bad hard drive. Thought all that was supposed to be checked out when it was refurbished. Also, it looked like a part was missing off the back. I am...

Took 3 tries to get one that worked

I also purchased 5 computers from Joy Systems, another refurbisher. These referbs are cheap and issues can be expected. However, Joy systmes customer care was awesome. Joy Systems overnighted me a set of RAM and I exchanged a full computer with BSOD in...

Eventually I got what was advertised. The 3rd machine works and has performed well for three weeks

I needed a machine up and running. The first one was Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) after hibernation. It took several calls to set up a replacement but I agreed to pay a deposit for a 2nd machine and pay for expedited shipping ($69) so we could cross the...

Great with SSD

Replace the HDD with a new Solid state drive. Its a slow machine with the 5400rpm laptop drive it ships with. I upgraded to a Crucial MX200 SSD and windows 10. Nice little computer now.

Decent processor and nice small form factor

Bios blocks Bluetooth. tried to upgrade the internal wireless with a wifi+Bluetooth but HP has this locked. Just buy a external USB Bluetooth dongle. I did however use a Intel 3160 to add AC wireless
