close enough

I was unable to even make the restore discs because of errors. My more computer savvy friend discovered the OS was corrupted and somehow the hard drive became write protected. This was after turning it on maybe 3 times, nothing else. In the end, we...

Fast, good storage space, quiet, nicely organized overall

OS was corrupted, iffy power supply, and mouse died immediately

PS causing problems

We've had this Gateway rig now for 2 months .If I had known this computer was a custom rig built just for NewEgg as a special not in Gateways inventory at all I wouldnt have bought it and paid more for a better rig suitable for low end gaming.I own a...

Price was right . I should have doubted the cost over what was sold .It was a huge upgrade over what my son had so thats not the issue here

Cheap power source causing the CPU to overheat when any kind of PC game or software is used .This was for my son who enjoys gaming .Although it has a built in 9200 graphics in the MB its not a gaming rig what so ever.We now have to spent $100 to...

Great for the Price

Cheap and works great for daily tasks.....

Was needing a PC for someone to use at home that does your average daily computer tasks and this one fit the need. Worked right out of the box and did not have much bloatware on it which saved me time and trouble when it came to getting it ready for...

So far, so good...

All things considered, I love the computer, so far! We'll see if I still love it, after trying to get a factory recovery DVD, and after applying for a Windows 7 upgrade...

1) Loads of memory (6 GB) ; 2) very quiet running ; 3) ran fine out of box, arrived in 3 business days ; 4) very fast processing time (for my purposes--nothing more than video editing and web surfing) ; 5) Works 9.0 included (we like the...

1) Vista... but even that isn't as horrid as I feared; the web has loads of tweaks to make it behave much like XP ; 2) Am I the only one who's bothered by the fact that there's no external "open/close" button for the CD/DVD drive? I have to go into "My...

every computer on earth that comes with preloaded software should come with the original Disk's for your own Support. windows Disk's the whole nine yards ! it should be manditory on every CPU sold . and a restore Disk as well.

The Price was nice

I purchased this Unit thinking wow Great and I was about to order one for myself as this one went to my Son for a birthday gift. in just 6 days he turned on the computer and received a blue lock out screen and was not able to get to his files so we...

The DATA EXECUTION PROTECTION feature prevents WORKS TASK LAUNCHER from loading program. Works is a factory installed program so it's seems reasonable to expect that Gateway support would provide some help in getting issue resolved. Was told that...

Yeah, I hate to say this but I would not reccomend this product and probably more specifically Gateway. Seems like their production assembly line does not have enough quality control.

I like the case

Terrible support from Gateway. I'm not against farming out IT but the support people sounded like cut and paste from an instruction booklet ; This seals the deal that I will NEVER buy Gateway. I'm actually quite knowledgeable in PC Hardware and...

can't complain with the price. After reading the other reviews was a bit worried. Thankfully all is well so far.

so far no problems with the operation of the machine. Like being able to upgrade to 8gb memory

Gateway DX4800-05

This The Third PC I Owned From Gateway, The Third Times A Charm, And I Wouldn't Buy Another Gateway Nor Would Recommed One.

The Only Thing That Was The Price On This PC

Numerous Problems With The Storage Drive Recognize The Problem Disc's ; The Gateway Support Stinks ; Gateway Support Wouldn't Give Any Info On Upgrading The CPU Unless You Paid For Support ; After 2 Months The PC Died ; Numerous Headaches With The...

Good Deal

I've read about the Windows 7 free upgrade. When I went to the gateway support site it did not take my request. I contacted gateway support thru the website and we went back and forth a few times and now I can finally enter all of my on the upgrade...

Based on the specs this was easily the best deal out there. I read a few reviews about it not booting on arrival and was concerned but I've had no issues. I purchased a GT9500 video card and a 500watt PS at the same time. After making sure it would...

With my setup it'll certainly play all of the games like COD 4, Wow, and crysis. I did have to do something very quirky to get COD 4 to run in multiplayer. I found the fix on the internet and it has to do with the sound tab. On playback tab in sounds...
