Gateway FX7020

Gateway's FX7020 matches an AMD quad-core CPU and a fast Nvidia graphics card to make a compelling gaming PC, with some basic multimedia features to boot. Upgraders looking for a deal might wish Gateway had added a beefier power supply, but as is, this...

Capable gaming performance in most current PC titles; TV tuner provides some multimedia oomph

400-watt power supply might limit your 3D card upgrade path down the road

Gateway FX7020

Gateway has upgraded its FX lineup of gaming desktops, and we got a hold of the budget gaming model, which has a quad-core Phenom CPU and an NVIDIA 8800 GT, all for just over a grand. It's a great gaming machine for the money, and is eerily silent in...

Quiet; solid performance for the price; affordable

Not as flashy as other gaming systems; airflow issues; boring keyboard and mouse

The FX7020 is certainly a better-than-average computer, and its pricing is extremely competitive.

Gateway FX7020 and FHD2400 Review

It's been years since $1,100 was a low budget for retail desktop shoppers. We remember spending that much in January 2007 to get a dual-core (Athlon 64 X2) Media Center PC with a TV tuner and all the trimmings, including a 250GB hard disk, DVD burner,...

Of course there are faster gaming machines than the FX7020 -- for instance, those with AMD's overclockable Phenom 9600 Black Edition instead of the stock 9600 that powers the Gateway. And a savvy build-it-yourselfer might be able to put such a system...

Gateway's FX7020 mainstream gaming box delivers enough of the goods to keep the whole family happy. It won't set any 3D game records—nor will it push you into foreclosure.

Respectable gaming performance

Won't drive the most demanding DX10 titles

I setup the computer with an HD cable for my HD monitor and installed World of Warcraft and the Burning Crusade is record time. I set all the graphic settings on high and set my sound to surround 5.1. Incredible. No lag and the best graphics ever. ...

Gateway FX7020

I love this machine! I spent countless hours agonizing over building my own rig or purchasing an off the shelf model. Of course, one must decide what type of gamer they are (extreme vs. enthusiast).

Gateway FX7020

This computer is awesome! Though if you're an extremely hardcore gamer looking for the best for the buck, the Fx7024 is a better choice. However if you're a casual/hardcore mix looking for the best for the buck, and like a little extra on the side...

Gateway FX7020

The fastest system I've got so far. I had other gateway system with Intel quad core which did not achieve what I was looking for.
