Gigabyte Brix Gaming UHD

The Gigabyte Brix Gaming UHD small-form-factor desktop is an ideal space-saver with a minimalist design at a sensible price, but there are some caveats regarding power and upgrades.

Compact design. Upgradable storage. Packs reasonable power for its size.

GTX 950 is good for 1080p, but not an ideal card, and not upgradable. Not cost effective compared with slightly larger prebuilt PCs. Component installation a bit complicated.

Gigabyte Brix Gaming GT Review and Ratings

It looks like a UFO dropped it off, but the funky, oval-shaped Brix Gaming GT is a powerhouse PC that packs familiar power parts, including a GeForce GTX 1070, and unique flip-top cooling.

True desktop-class gaming performance in a compact, unique chassis ; End-user upgradable ; Good port selection for its size

Fans ran loud while gaming ; Design can be oriented only one way ; No easily accessible HDMI port for VR headsets

The Gigabyte Brix Gaming GT is a unique take on what fits inside a mini-tower. We’d never have guessed from its appearance alone that this unit housed a desktop CPU and a double-wide PCI Express graphics card. End-user upgradability is indeed one of...

Gigabyte Brix Gaming UHD Review and Ratings

We adore the slick design and surprising storage potential of the Brix Gaming UHD. We'd just like to see one with an Nvidia "Pascal" chip inside, not a last-gen GTX 950.

Cool, minimalist design ; Barely a cubic inch of unused space inside ; Potent components for a PC this small ; Footprint is less than 5 inches square

Pricey once all components accounted for, versus prebuilt, slightly bigger PCs ; GTX 950 is borderline for 1080p gaming ; Graphics not upgradable ; Installing components requires some delicate work

Let's get one thing clear right up front: The Brix Gaming UHD makes no sense to buy unless you steadfastly

Gigabyte Brix S Review

For some time now Gigabyte have been creating and refining their ultra compact PCs, calling them BRIX. Now with the latest Intel i5 CPU and the option for high performance storage and memory we test one of their current models in our Gigabyte Brix S...

Looking first at the build quality and design of the Gigabyte Brix S we have a system which is discrete and compact. Its black chassis is easy to hide away, or mount out of sight. There are no garish LEDs and access to the internal components is very...

Gigabyte Brix review

Just when you thought PCs couldn't get any smaller

Tiny form factor ; Good HD video playback ; Dual-channel memory support

Limited connectivity ; High price ; No RAM or HDD included

In Gigabyte's attempt to out-Intel the NUC, it's fallen into the same trap as its forbears: the Brix is just too darned small. Considering these aren't portable devices you can use on the go, what's the point in shaving every possible millimeter when...

GIGABYTE BRIX Review; A Mini Powerhouse?

From notebooks to homebrew gaming PC's and set top boxes, form factors are rapidly shrinking in an effort to keep pace with our increasingly space-cons

Conclusion; Challenges but Kaby Lake Shines Through There are two different aspects of this particular review: one of which showed how the BRIX

Comment Redo

Would be great if Gigabyte would respond with a phone number... I sure was not able to connect with them earlier today. I wonder if they actually go outside their site and try to lon into it from time to time.

See previous post.

Sorry for the typos on my past review post on this little compact system. I have to apologize for those typos, but it's after midnight after unboxing and attempting to complete installation since around 3 PM.

Quiet, small, and powerful mini-pc with a few caveats.

I read some reviews that started people had issues installing "older" OSes like Windows 7 and using the provided tool that merges a Windows installation disk with required drivers to support the new Skylake chipset limitations for pre-3.0 USB support;...

Size, low noise, performance, VESA monitor mount provided.

Installing older OSes more cumbersome (requires OS support for legacy (non-3.0) USB, BIOS update requires DOS boot flash drive (WTH ... 2015/6 people), price is a little high, limited to M.2 B-Key drives (a taller version can support a standard laptop...

Total waste of time. Terrible reliability, hardware, quality control.

Absolutely not

Specs look nice on paper.

Went through two of these units. Both dead-on-arrival. I have been building machines for 20 years and cannot remember being frustrated with hardware quality issues like this. Tried multiple hard drives, multiple memory kits, multiple displays, multiple...

It's fast

I actually also contacted gigabyte since I had problems. Learned that the upper memory slot is the real one to test the memory. I did on the first box since at first I got not even a boot-screen. Installed 1 ram stick in the upper memory slot and...

I like the small size of the box and the extra space for the SSD in the box. I also have the Asus Laptop UX303UB. It has the i7 chip and is fan-less. Making a C-Drive backup takes 2m30s. On the Brix's it takes 1m45s. So the Brix's is faster. C-drive is...

First thing needed was a BIOS flash and spending about 1 hours before I got it to work to get the boot-screen. I am on Brix's (i7H) #3. First one had FanFailure (i7, not i7H) but got it to work, yet not knowing if the fan is really working or not I...
