Polywell MiniBox P5500C Compact Power PC Desktop Review

Massive storage capacity ; Excellent price-for-performance ratio

Small size means limited upgradability

Polywell MiniBox P5500C

Compact form factor. Long 5-year service warranty. Very good 3D scores. CrossFire and SLI (2-card) compatible motherboard. Copious amounts of hard drive space

Some fan noise. Larger than other small form factor gaming rigs

Polywell's MiniBox P5500C is a decent gaming rig with the power to play 3D games on a semi-portable PC system. It's got copious storage and quad core power, so it could work as a video workstation as well.

Polywell MiniBox P5500C Review and Ratings

The P5500C packs a potent component mix into a small case, and Polywell includes an excellent monitor and 5.1 speakers. But the PC is slightly crippled by a 32-bit version of Windows 7, and its design is more than a bit unpolished.

Massive storage space ; Excellent array of ports ; Large, high-resolution bundled monitor

32-bit Windows limits RAM to 3GB ; Questionable design choices and build quality ; Bundled remote could be better
