Deluxe Freeview+ HD PVR with outstanding networking

Humax HDR-Fox T2 review

Ever since Freeview HD began hosting three free-to-air high-def channels the chase has been on to deliver the ultimate piece of hardware. But while simple Freeview HD receivers have impressed with their pretty pictures, only a recorder can truly...

HD pictures, networking, CI slot

Limited file support

For the most part a joy to use, this slick and speedy set-top box/home hub's Freeview+ functionality is perhaps as important as its high-def ambitions and puts it alongside the likes of Sky+ and Virgin V+ on sheer ease of use - this is the finest...

Humax HDR-FOX T2 review

The Freeview+ HD PVR that everyone's been waiting for

Cutting-edge design ; Slick interface ; Ease of use ; Multi-media compatibility ; Outputs Dolby Digital surround sound

No VoD until later in 2010 ; Can't trim recordings ; Bit expensive

Assuming the audio playback niggle is an isolated case then there is very little about the HDR-FOX T2 to seriously damage Humax's reputation as a maker of better quality digital TV boxes.

Humax HDR-FOX T2 review

The Humax HDR-FOX T2 is the brand's latest PVR, enabling you to enjoy subscription-free HD broadcasts while its Freeview+ credentials mean that you can pause and rewind live TV, or set the box to record an entire TV series for you.

Humax HDR-FOX T2 review

We've long been fans of Humax's PVRs, right from the PVR-8000T, through to the HD-FOX T2, which we reviewed around a year ago. Few Freeview PVRs can equal Humax's models for ease of use and intuitive operation, and the HDR-FOX T2 is no different.

Packed with features, but still an expensive purchase considering the limited number of HD broadcasts. However, this is the best Freeview HD PVR around, and also has iPlayer built-in.

Humax HDR-FOX T2

It's more expensive than its rivals, but it's also one of the best Freeview HD PVRs out there.

After comparing the HDR-FOX T2’s considerable talents with those of its rivals, there can be little doubt that the Humax is the best of the bunch. The level of recording flexibility, immaculate onscreen presentation, slick operation and extensive...

Humax HDR-FOX T2 review

The Humax HDR-FOX T2 is a very good Freeview HD PVR that we have no problem recommending. The only issues we have are with its low storage capacity and high price. It's a capable machine, though, that works very well indeed.

Attractive design ; Good features ; Excellent potential ; Great picture quality ; Handy media sharing

High price ; No on-demand content at launch ; Low storage capacity

Despite the relatively high price of the Humax HDR-FOX T2, we still love it. It's attractive, usable and has top-notch picture and sound quality. It's an easy-to-use PVR, too, which is a nice break from the tedious user interfaces we so often find on...

Well-made, dependable and serving up great pictures, the Humax HDR-FOX T2 is the best Freeview HD box on sale at the moment. Don’t forget its media-wrangling capabilities though. Humax HDR-FOX T2 is tagged with Humax HDR-FOX T2, Humax and freeview box....
