If I was to try an alternate brand of 'combo' (like the Sonys or Panasonics), I would consider something like this. Nice silver finish, easy operation, remote offers most functions, easy to understand on-screen menus. Simple setup. Not sure how I would...

Attractive, easy setup, elaborate for a medium priced unit. It is well up there with the other leading brands. Analogue tuner for the VCR, Hi-Fi stereo.

Nothing so far, if you have extended warranty, everything is covered (including the DVD drive which can fail and be expensive to replace), I have seen a couple of these in a secondhand shop, no major faults or damage.
