I've had this a long time. I got it to fry chicken, which it does ok. Ir has never seemed to fry anything quickly so this time I turned it on to the highest setting (370) and checked the temperature with three thermometers; the highest reading was 320.

You wouldn't want to use this for a high-end espresso machine that demands the finest and most consistent of grinds. But if you can afford a high-end espresso machine, why are you looking at a cheap grinder?? I never had a problem with the button....
