DeLorme Earthmate PN-60

The DeLorme Earthmate PN-60 updates the PN-40 with improved battery life, expanded internal memory, and activities (similar to Garmin's profiles). Power management is one of the biggest improvements, as short battery life was a common complaint with...

Improved battery life ; Bright screen ; File management system allows you to selectively load your data ; Can load aerial imagery, USGS topos and NOAA charts (subscription required) ; Topo USA vector maps easy to load ; 3.5 GB internal memory ; Uses a...

Small screen ; Battery compartment thumb screws are a pain ; Limited track navigation functionality ; Proprietary cable ; File management system limits you to one file (per type) open at a time ; Weak highway navigation capabilities ; No geocache...

Highly recommended for previous DeLorme Earthmate owners looking to upgrade. The PN-60 is a powerful device, with an extensive feature set and capabilities. Nevertheless, I find myself reluctant to recommend it beyond this, partially due to its small...

Top of the line unit

This is my second PN-60. I work on the east coast an live in the central U.S. so it made sense to pick up a second GPS. I first purchased a cheaper competitors model, but it was not nearly as accurate as the Delorme so I returned it. The menus can be a...

paperless geocaching, topo software, color screen, very accurate

Bad UI and won't sync well with PC

I've had many GPS devices over the years, starting back in the 90's, so I'm very well familiar with them. I bought this one mainly because it included the topo maps free and allowed satellite images to be copied to the device. Garmin has historically...

Best Buy Sent me a USED, DEFECTIVE UNIT!!!!!!

I dont know how well the unit works because BB sent me a used defective unit. Delorme seems willing to correct the issue, but the fact remains that BB did not send me what I ordered.I buy a lot of my electronics from Best Buy but will not in the future.

Looks Nice

Product Specifications

There's no more stopping for directions or fussing with re-folding a map when you use the Earthmate GPS Receiver with Street Atlas USA. Earthmate and the Street Atlas work together to locate where you are and where you are going. The Earthmate GPS Receiver is a high-performance, easy-to-use receiver that links to the satellite navigation technology of the Global Positioning System (GPS). Less than half the size of DeLorme's previous GPS receivers, sleek 6.0 features the latest Rockwell technology. It is fully integrated with antennae and serial cable. The Earthmate package includes Street Atlas USA, which shows your location on street level maps. If you use Earthmate and the Street Atlas with a multimedia laptop, you can hear spoken directions and upcoming exit service information as you drive. IBM-compatible computers also work with Earthmate and Street Atlas. Earthmate shows your position on the map and moves with you as you travel. Additionally, it provides your speed, direction of travel, elevation and latitude and longitude. Plus, it updates these values and your position every two seconds. Earthmate tracks your location in cities, canyons, or heavily wooded areas. It not only shows your locations on the map as you travel, but also 'records' your route. Play it back at home for friends or just to reminisce. Package includes: Earthmate GPS Receiver, Street Atlas USA.
