The Garmin Edge 705 is a great little Bike computer/GPS unit that brings data capture to a new level. With the ability to capture not only bike computer information, but to combine it with location specifics, wrapping in the wireless data capture of a...

Garmin Edge 605 review

The Garmin Edge 605 is one of the new mapping models in Garmin’s bike-centric Edge lineup. This is the first Edge unit I’ve had for a hands-on review; I've been testing it on my mountain bike for a few weeks now.

Edge 605

Although there are other Garmin GPS units that we recommend more highly than the Garmin Edge 605, it is still an excellent product for some cyclists. If this bike GPS unit offered navigational features along with a heart rate monitor, cadence/speed...

The color interface gives you more detail in your map display and offers turn-by-turn navigation

A heart rate monitor and cadence/speed sensor cannot be used with this Garmin Edge

Although this bike GPS lacks many of the features you can find in higher-ranked products, it still provides more than most found on the market today.

Mine lasted about 3 seasons

This is my second Garmin Edge that has deteriorated over a relatively short period of time. Occasional lockups became and more frequent, then data losses, and now it doesn't work at all. I'm done with Garmin products.

Looks good, time will tell

The Garmin Edge 605 Bicycle GPS was given as a gift this past Christmas. As of now we have not used it, no biking in the snow. I'll be able to give this item more of a review after the snow clears and the temperatures get above 30 degrees for more than...

Terrible, bug-ridden software destroys the user experience, loses data

From the first months I had my Garmin Edge 605 until now, almost three years later, it has repeatedly lost my valuable ride data. Sure, a lot of times I come home and it uploads to the Garmin Connect site just fine, but many times I get home and the...
