Great GPS

This is the second Nuvi I've owned and both had voice recognition however, the 3790T doesn't require a remote to use voice command. All you do is speak to this device and you are on your way. The additional speaker on the mount is great especially when you are driving a noisy diesel truck. The traffic information is also a very nice feature. I noticed a negative for not being able to access the traffic while using this device as a handheld. The traffic information is received through your FM receiver. It has to be plugged in to receive this information. To date, this is the best GPS unit I've owned. Had a Cobra and couldn't even get map updates ever!

Garmin Nuvi 3790T

Garmin designed the Nuvi 3790T to be the thinnest, lightest portable navigation device ever and to go toe-to-toe with the iPhone in a fashion show. Though we're not certain that the Nuvi would win such a matchup, by setting its standards so high Garmin...

The Garmin Nuvi 3790T is one of the thinnest and lightest portable navigators we've tested; it's the best looking, too. Voice Command is truly hands-free and can be activated merely by speaking to the Nuvi. Bluetooth calling also helps drivers keep...

The glossy screen tends to create a good deal of glare when used in direct sunlight. Traffic data cannot be accessed while using the device in the hand

The Garmin Nuvi 3790T is an exceptional portable navigation device with just the right blend of form and function.

Garmin nuvi 3790T review

For the most part, standalone navigators have retained their same form factor for the better part of the last five years. Each one looked like the other, with the main differentiators being a fold-out or integrated antenna and a big or small display....

Super slim ; Great features ; World-class user interface

Slow to acquire GPS signal ; Voice robot needs updating ; No European maps

Garmin nuvi 3790T

The Garmin nuvi 3790T would be the nearly-perfect navigational system had Garmin reinforced the thin and sometimes flimsy device platform, as well as taken steps to alert consumers of the pop-up ads. Many consumers purchase the GPS with "lifetime...

Adaptable- comes with myTrends and trafficTrends capabilitiesUltra-portable- one of the thinnest GPS devices ever marketedExpansive- feature-packed with Bluetooth, voice-activated, 3D territories

Expensive- a comparable smartphone performs nearly the samePesky- does not indicate pop-up traffic ads until they show up

Garmin nuvi 3790LMT

The Garmin nüvi 3790LMT adds lifetime map updates to the nuvi 3790T, Garmin's latest and greatest navigator. With its 4.3” glass screen and minimalist 0.35” thickness, it resembles an iPhone more than past nuvis. In addition to most of the goodies...

Very thin ; Gorgeous, bright screen ; The loudest nuvi yet ; Terrain view ; trafficTrends historical road speeds result in improved routing ; More streets are labeled than on recent nuvis ; Improved junction view and lane assist coverage ; Voice...

Voice command performance and options weaker than expected ; Disappointing Bluetooth performance ; trafficTrends results in increased route calculation time ; Slightly weaker GPS receiver performance than other recent nuvi series ; Multi-destination...

Highly recommended — the best nuvi yet. The 3790 models feel like a work of art; the screen is drop dead gorgeous. Routing has been significantly improved with the addition of historical road speed data (trafficTrends). I expect that a couple of my...

Review: Garmin Nuvi 3790T/3790LMT Review - Impressive Next Generation of GPS Units

The Garmin Nuvi 3790T brings a fresh physical and interface design to the GPS category that makes using the navigator a pleasure; not overly touted as a major improvement, but clearly tipping the awesomeness scale is the quality of the screen. The new...

Review: Garmin Premium Nuvi 3790T GPS device

Top-of-line dedicated GPS device is packed with features, including a high-resolution screen, but it lacks lifetime map updates.

The Nuvi 3790T measures 4.8 by 2.9 by 0.35 inches and weighs 4.1 ounces without the mounting bracket. Those dimensions make it the thinnest dedicated GPS device on the market. The mounting bracket has a standard Garmin ball-and-socket adjustment...

Luxury GPS learns traffic patterns

Sleek design, gorgeous multitouch display, learns traffic patterns in your area, free lifetime traffic info

Owners aren't as pleased as experts, voice commands get mixed reviews, poor built-in speaker (mount speaker is fine), pop-up ads, expensive
