Pharos Drive GPS 200 Navigator

During testing, we found that the spoken directions on this Pharos device were garbled-sounding and hard to understand. It took forever to get to the points-of-interest menu to search the 4 million preloaded ones. Once there, it was very time-consuming...

An incredible GPS

Simply put, this is a great GPS. It will not play your MP3's or answer your cell phone, or collect unicorn tears from space (in other words it will not do childish crap), but it will get you to where you want to go quickly and easily. The audio ......

Simply put, this is a great GPS. It will get you to where you want to go, quickly and easily. The audio is very easy to hear and understand, the screen is large, and it makes few mistakes

It does not seem to in dicate when the battery is fully charged and the literature does not mention battery time

Simple to operate & capable, but not ground-breaking

All in all this is not a bad GPS unit for the price. While it lacks the "toys" and extras that other competing models may offer this unit is very capable and is more than sufficient for the practically-minded "function first" driver. The software is...

Easy to setup and use ; Quick to adjust to your position in relation to where it meant for you to turn ; Decent position tracking in both "directed" travel and in "map browsing" modes ; Standard "day/night" display color modes

Lacks the bells and whistles of other units ; No bluetooth or multimedia capability (It DOES speak directions to you) that other units are praised for ; Proprietary map software

Junk, POS, Kids toy

Research the reviews, Like I should have.

Um, Hmmm, oh yea, theres.....No thats my Tom Tom

Junk, really basic, usa only no canada or mexico, no updates or maps, better out there for same price or cheaper, really limited point of interest. Not for traveler. Cost too much, features to little

Interface review

Happy so far - This isn't expensive, so don't expect the best out of it. Good for a cheap unit. Also - haven't figured out a way to input coordinates, only view what LAT/LONG I am currently at. Altitude seems inaccurate, but might be caused by poor...

Interface has many options for basic users. 2D, 3D, night time mode and options behind each one to make it unique (such as auto-night mode). Charges by plugging into mini-USB. Comes with car mount, pictorial guide and instruction manual CD. Charges...

Seems to pause when calculating searches or routes. If you mis-type something, it pauses for too long just to tell you the city, street or POI doesn't exist ; Confirmation clicks happen even when calculating, or if you miss your button (IE - clicking...

Good GPS for the money

For the money it's hard to find a GPS with the features that this unit offers. So far it has been very dependable and very accurate. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this GPS to anyone I know.

Signal strength, and acquisition time are very good. Speaks street names clearly and accurately. Screen is bright and clear. Great price

Software is not upgradable. Touch screen is a little quirky, doesn't always register when you touch it, even with the stylus
