HyperX Cloud Revolver review: New look, new sound, higher price

Despite Kingston's efforts to put out an even better Cloud headset, there's just not much reason to buy the Revolver over the original HyperX Cloud or Cloud II.

Comfortable suspension-band design ; Solid sound for its price

Metal band has a tendency to reverberate when touched ; Inline controls are as middling as the standard Cloud line

The biggest problem with the HyperX Cloud line is that it hit such a high point the first time around. Great performance, cheap price—it’s hard to top that.

HyperX Cloud Revolver + 7.1 Review

The HyperX Cloud Revolver + 7.1 are wired gaming headphones with a virtual soundstage feature. They're essentially a slightly upgraded version of the HyperX Clou...

Decently well-balanced sound profile. Mic delivers decent recording quality and great noise handling capability. Decently low levels of audio leakage. Sturdy build quality.

Unstable fit. No onboard controls on default audio cable. No wireless capabilities like NFC or multi-device pairing. Inconsistent audio delivery. Lack of sound customization features, like an EQ or presets. Bulky design. Poor noise isolation capability.

The HyperX Cloud Revolver 7.1 are good for neutral sound. Their bass-heavy sound profile should emphasize the punch and boom of sound effects without overwhelming in-game dialogue or music thanks to their very well-balanced mids and decently accurate...

Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver Review (Page 1 of 4)

As I am preparing for interviews to enter in the working world, I have been looking at typical interview questions to get myself ready. One of the questions I ran into was, "What makes a good leader?" It may seem a bit odd to expect this question,...

Kingston and their gaming brand HyperX has always been excellent in providing a great balance between build quality, performance, and price, and the HyperX Cloud Revolver today is another step in the right direction for them. As they are embarking on...

Kingston Cloud Revolver Gaming Headset

When you think of gaming headsets, what's the most important thing? It's not the sound quality, that's second. The first is comfort. When you're doing a long session of gaming, you don't want to be caught having a headset that just doesn't feel right...

HyperX Cloud Revolver Review

As a headset built for competitive gamers, the $120 HyperX Cloud Revolver absolutely hits the mark. Its rich, directionally accurate audio makes it easy to pinpoint enemies, and its cozy ear cups and suspension-frame design make it comfy enough to wear...

Crisp, immersive audio ; Comfy ear cups ; Automatically adjusts to your head ; Durable steel frame

No virtual 7.1 surround sound ; Relatively pricey

The HyperX Cloud Revolver offers rich audio within a comfy, durable design, but it lacks some key features for a $120 gaming headset.

HyperX Cloud Revolver

The Cloud Revolver is HyperX's gaming headset for those who want an analogue connection and a comfortable design for long gaming sessions.

A well-specced headset that’s overshadowed by its cheaper sibling.

Kingston HyperX Cloud Revolver review

Kingston's latest gaming headset is another solid all-around performer

Lightweight ; Comfortable ; Clear and crisp sound quality

Pricey ; Lack of portability

The Cloud Revolver is solid gaming headset, but its price lands it above most of the market's current offerings. The Cloud Revolver is a solid headset, providing crisp mids and highs and punchy bass on top of a svelte, comfortable set of earpads. Its...

Thanks to Kingston, we'll be taking a quick look at the HyperX Cloud Revolver Gaming Headset. It features large 50mm directional drivers, over-ear ear cups, solid-steel frame, detachable noise-cancelling microphone and of course HyperX's signature...

I’ve never been a fan of headsets that use USB connectors. It just limits its versatility. Don’t get me wrong, there are some great gaming headsets that uses USB connectors, which allows you to have more controls and features, such as RGB and Dolby 7.1...
