Using this soundbar for a TV in the bedroom, so we're not really missing the subwoofer, we could always go and buy one if we really wanted to. I like the SPDIF connection on the back, that was the selling feature for me.

I typed in 'hdmi to sony xperia z1' and this cable comes up. Yes I was a fool to not further check but having shopped many times on Amazon you do tend to trust the system--- not on this occasion does not connect to the Z1 at all other buyers beware!!
