Panasonic Toughbook U1 Ultra (CF-U1)

Fully ruggedized inside and out, the Panasonic Toughbook U1-Ultra can survive anything you throw at it, and it has more functions than a Swiss Army knife. It may not be a good fit for most, but for anyone who works in extreme conditions, it's the...

Rugged construction. Unique features like GPS, barcode scanner, and dual hot-swappable batteries. Hand strap makes it easy to carry securely

Tiny screen. Unconventional keyboard. Expensive

Panasonic Toughbook CF-U1

Is the Panasonic CF-U1 rugged enough to take it when you finally throw this tiny tablet to the floor in frustration?

Hot-swappable batteries. Rugged chassis. Lightweight. Bar code scanner built in. 3G options.

No trackpad or pointing stick. Terrible typing experience. Limited programs can run on low-powered processor. Expensive. Not much hard drive space on 16GB SSD.

Panasonic ToughBook CF-U1

Panasonic has created a new paradigm in rugged notebooks with the CF-U1, which is a nice balance between portability and functionality. However businesses should be aware of its limited performance, and note that protection comes at a premium price.

Excellent touch screen display, Dual batteries, Designed to vehicle mount, Highly portable, Camera and finger printer reader, 3G Mobile broadband available, GPS

Very expensive, Limited performance, You wouldn't want to do a lot of typing on this device

Panasonic have created a new paradigm in rugged devices, but watch out for the premium price and limited performance.

It's pretty much one of the ultimate mobile units. Six foot drop, MILSTD810.That's really all there is to say. An amazing piece of work.
