Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM Lens

The Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM Lens is the widest aperture lens Canon currently makes (update: now the Canon EF 50mm f/1.2 L USM Lens shares this aperture) - allowing handholding and action stopping in the darkest conditions. The background blur...

The Canon EF 85mm f/1.2 L II USM Lens retains the 72mm filter size of the original 85 L. It also uses the same lens hood and lens pouch. Both the ES-79 II and the LP1219 lens pouch are included with this lens. The clip-on lens hood is very easy to...

Great

Livid its now[$] cheaper than when I bought it a couple of months ago. A great purchase though. A few people have commented that the hood is not very good compared with other L series lens. I actually prefer this hood as it is easier to slip on quickly...

If Carlsberg made a lens...

This lens is heavy, slow focusing in low light, expensive, and requires care when mating to your camera, but I would award it 6 stars if I could. Until you have tried one for yourself you probably won\'t appreciate just how good it is. Like a good hifi...

Best portrait lens ever

Cons: None as all outweighed by the pros Pros: a truly magical lens, fantastic wide open and wouldn\'t want to use it stopped down (though I have tried it down to f4 and razor sharp). A strange animal regarding its electrofocus issues until you get...

Use with full frame only

I have owned the lens for just over 9 months now and overall I am pleased with the perfomance. I use an EOS 1D Mark III camera which effectively increases the lens from 85mm to 110 mm. That is probably too much for most portrait work and so tends not...

creates that one off photo in low light, superb quality

weight, slow auto focus, difficult to change lens, cost

Excellent lens

You won't be sorry if you buy this lens, allthough it could be better. This lens delivers pinsharp pictures and is very well build. Could it be better? Well, maybe just a little bit. The autofocus is a bit slow for sports even though this lens, with...

pinsharp, very well build, dust and moisture proof, a very narrow depth of field, nice bokeh

autofocus a little bit to slow
