Apple Magic Mouse 2

The Apple Magic Mouse 2 looks and feels the same as its predecessor, and now comes with rechargeable batteries. Its minimalist design may not be comfortable for everyone, however, and the Lightning port isn't in the best location.

Rechargeable battery. Multitouch surface. Good for both left- and right-handed use. Automatically pairs with Macs via Bluetooth. Ships with Lightning-to-USB cable.

Requires OS X El Capitan or later. Cannot use the mouse while it is charging. Shallow design doesn't fill the curve of your hand.

Conclusion The Apple Magic Mouse 2 is an evolutionary update to a distinctive, minimalist design. It addresses the issue of burning through disposable batteries, and using the Lightning-to-USB cable to pair the mouse instead of mucking about with...

Apple Magic Mouse 2 Review and Ratings

Apple giveth and taketh away with its Magic Mouse redesign. The new internal battery is welcome, but you can't charge it while the mouse is in use. This is otherwise an elegant, minimalist addition to the Apple canon.

Internal battery ; Multi-touch support ; Click mechanism feels sturdy

Awkward charging-port location means mouse can't be used while it's charging ; Single button wobbles while using multi-touch gestures ; No Force Click suport or haptic feedback

As useful as these multi-touch features are, during our week of testing we found ourselves gravitating toward the Magic Trackpad 2, which sat next to the Magic Mouse 2 and ended up getting significantly more use. We can’t

Apple Magic Mouse 2 review: Mouse unable to conjure up any innovation

Apple's new Magic Mouse 2 isn't really that much different from the original Magic Mouse. It has major changes that affect how the mouse moves and a new built-in battery. But there's nothing about the Magic Mouse 2 that will make you ditch your current...

I think we can agree that input devices might be the most personal parts of a personal computer. Therefore, opinions about input devices like mice are highly subjective, and my reasons for not liking Apple mice are a matter of taste and how they fit my...

Apple Magic Mouse 2 Review

The Magic Mouse 2 benefits from strong fundamentals. While it isn't without its design blind spots, Apple's excellent build quality and features make it a decent dedicated mouse option for users in need of a Bluetooth mouse.

The Apple Magic Mouse 2 has excellent build quality.

Apple inconveniently placed the charging port on the bottom of the Mouse.

Design quirks aside, the Magic Mouse 2 features strong build quality and steady scrolling performance.

Best. Mouse. Ever.

2 weeks in and I still haven't had to charge it. We don't use the computer every day or for hours at a time, but it's been great. It moves effortlessly.
