Apple Fourth Gen. iPod (20GB)

Apple didn't do much new when it introduced the fourth generation of the iPod, but it didn't need to. No one has beaten the company at the portable-audio-player game yet, but with 75 percent market share, the only way to go is down. The...

Charges via USB cable. Nice firmware improvements. Control wheel adopted from iPod mini. Improved battery life.

EQ distortion problems at high volume.

Still the player to beat despite a premium price and minimal features. The fourth generation of the Apple iPod doesn't sound any better than the third, but it doesn't need toas long as you don't use the EQ settings.

Apple iPod v4: Accessories There's a difference between the 20GB's and the 40GB's accessory set (storage capacities may have changed during time, Apple tends to play around with those for marketing-technical reasons). Very clever marketing by Apple has re

Well, Apple of course had already set the standards a long time ago, but their 4th generation of iPods will probably manage to extend the brand's lead over the competition even further. While there's hardly anything revolutionary to be found on this...

Fourth-Generation iPods

What you're demanding from your music player will determine whether this iPod update will satisfy you. If your digital music collection remains relatively small and you don't need half-a-day's worth of battery life, you're probably better off with an iPod

Clickable scroll wheel, long battery life, improved audiobook support.

Apple iPod 20GB

The new colour iPod comprises all the features of the iPod photo

Full colour screen ; Listen to 5,000 songs ; Browse photos easily

Not as portable as iPod mini ; iPod back scratches easily ; No FireWire lead included

20GB gives you 5,000 songs, which is roughly 500 albums. That's enough music to be played constantly for 14 days, without repeating a single song. The battery power is also impressive, enabling you to listen to your music for up to 15 hours in our...

Apple iPod (20GB, 4th generation) review

Apple's fourth-generation iPod delivers notable improvements to an already excellent product -- and at a lower price

Click Wheel improves user experience ; Better battery life ; Useful firmware enhancements such as multiple On The Go playlists

Dock, remote control and carrying case not included (dock is included with the 40GB version)

According to Apple's Web site, the battery charges in about 4 hours (about 80 minutes longer than the last iPod), and after 2 hours, the cell will be at 80 percent. An Apple spokesperson clarified this, saying that recharge time is only 3 hours when...

Apple iPod (30GB; Windows; Mac)

Apple's existing iPods are already cool, but the new models look even cooler.

Best-of-breed design and interface; excellent playlist features; clean, configurable sound; smooth syncing with both Windows PCs and Macs; organizes contacts; includes games; functions as an external drive

No FM or voice recording; line-in recording included but not enabled; no USB kit until June; battery life compromised somewhat by small size

We love almost everything about this beautifully designed player, but the battery life could be longer.

Apple iPod 20GB

The iPod themselves used to come in two separate incarnations. The one's solely for your music, and one sporting a colour screen so you can view your downloaded photographs on the move. Well now that's no more. Every single iPod released has this...

"iPod is like a fragile piece of box"

iPod LCD screen showed me inside crack, with actually no visible physical damage. Upon that best part is there is no repair possible once LCD cracks. One can buy new version of iPod from the cost of repair. I suggest DO NOT BUY IPOD IF ONE WANTS TO USE...

Looks beautiful, but not practical to use as portable MP3 player

The LCD screen cracks even if you carry it in your handbag with wallet inside
