Performance

Archos Jukebox Multimedia 120

Records/plays video at a respectable quality (with optional module); records MP3s from a microphone or an analog/digital source; stores images from a digital camera or with its own camera module; 20GB capacity; USB 2.0 connection.

Small screen; short battery life when using maximum capabilities; video-recording module and remote sold separately.

This model delivers on the recording promise of its predecessor, the Multimedia 20, but the newer AV320 offers a much larger screen.

Archos Jukebox Multimedia 20 (W/photo module) review: Archos Jukebox Multimedia 20 (W/photo module)

Archos Jukebox Multimedia 20 (W/photo module)

Multitude of inputs and outputs; can display images and video on a TV; 20GB hard drive; grabs photos from digicams without a PC; transfers files over USB 1.1, USB 2.0, or FireWire; expandable functionality.

No remote currently available; battery life could be better; USB 2.0 and FireWire cables not included.

This multifunctional device was revolutionary at the time of its release, but Archos's newer options are much improved.

Archos Jukebox Recorder 20 review: Archos Jukebox Recorder 20

Archos Jukebox Recorder 20

Connects via USB 1.1 or 2.0; 20GB of storage; records to MP3 in analog or digital; built-in microphone; simple file transfers; intuitive operation.

Larger and heavier than the iPod; doesn't record to WAV files.

If you need lots of music at your fingertips and hate bloated interfaces, the Recorder 20 is the device for you.

An All

The first Archos device we laid eyes on, a 10GB jukebox, impressed us with its capacity at the time. We expected the inevitable increase in storage space, but we didn't expect the Archos Jukebox Multimedia 20 ($399.95 list) to come fully loaded with a...

Archos Jukebox Recorder 20 review

Last year, Archos's original Jukebox Recorder impressed us with its ability to encode MP3s to a hard drive. But after Apple's iPod and Creative's upped the ante with high-speed FireWire connections, Archos had to respond, and it has done so with the...

You don't need to be computer-savvy to enjoy the new and preferred music format of the digital generation. In fact, you don't even need a computer.

Review: Archos Jukebox 20

The Archos Jukebox 20 may look like yet another device in a steadily growing line of hard drive MP3 players, but it definitely has some twists. The $309 USD machine has been out since late last year however it took the recent death of my last Mp3...

Now for twist number two. Unlike a lot of the competition, this is both a recorder AND player. There is a built in microphone along with digital (S/PDIF) and line-level analog 1/8-inch stereo input which it uses to record MP3’s on the fly. The...
