Cowon O2 - 32GB

Cowon's 32GB O2 touch screen PMP is great for your AV needs but could have been much better considering the price.

Cowon O2

The O2 is an impressive portable video player, but it lacks a few crucial features.

Large, responsive touch screen ; Excellent sound and video quality

Won't play DRM-protected formats ; No ID3 tag sorting

Though it may not have Internet browsing capabilities or much in the way of advanced features, the O2 is a solid portable media player. Thanks to its support for a wide range of file types, you'll spend less time trying to convert videos from one...

Cowon O2 MP3 Player Review

Large, responsive touch screen ; Excellent sound and video quality

Won't play DRM-protected formats ; No ID3 tag sorting

The Cowon O2 supports an astonishing number of formats, but lack of ID3 tag support is disappointing.

Cowon O2 8GB

Cowon has a reputation for designing innovative, yet underrated digital media players, and the O2 is no exception. It's not as sexy as Apple's iPod Touch, and it doesn't come with an all-you-can eat music plan like Microsoft's Zune, but this device...

Supports several photo ; music ; and video formats; exceptional audio and video quality

Chunky form factor; no Wi-Fi support; doesn't support VOB and QuickTime files; can't play encrypted audio or video tracks

Cowon's O2 is a strong digital media player with a couple of curious omissions.

Cowon O2

The Cowon O2 looks a lot like an Archos 5, but unlike that player, it isn't hiding a large-capacity hard drive inside its large exterior. The flash-based player is offered in 8GB ($219.99), 16GB ($249.99), and 32GB ($299.99) models, the same capacities...

Excellent file support. Large display. Voice recorder. Comparatively affordable

Despite its large size, the player has no hard drive, only flash memory. No Internet access. Touch screen requires stylus. Few extra features

The O2's file support is fantastic, and it is cheaper than its two main competitors, the iPod touch and the Archos 5but it packs far fewer features into its inexplicably large frame.

Cowon O2

This touchscreen media player offers good sound quality, expandable memory, and broad format support.

Large touchscreen display ; Supports most A/V formats ; Good sound enhancements ; SD/SDHC Card slot

Music not sorted by ID3 tags ; No DRM support ; Lacks Wi-Fi ; TV-out cable costs extra

Though its touch interface doesn't match that of the iPod touch, the ’19 Cowon O2 is a good choice for those who want a bigger display, broader format support, and expandable memory—but find the Archos 5 too large and expensive. The inability to sort...

Cowon's O2 Media Player Isn't A Breath of Fre...

Cowon is known for making media players that do what the user wants, rather than what the manufacturer will allow. Monopolists like Apple and Microsoft control

Nigh never ending battery exceeds 8 hours in life. This polyglot reads more media file types than we care to list. Compatible with Mac, PC, and Linux; no infantile media applications irritate or limit you. SD slot lets you easily boost storage space

Cowon axed the cool AV-in video recording and the FM radio. Tinny, tiny speaker is weak, easily muted by a misplaced finger. Manual switching to headphones is an extra, bothersome step. Wobbly stand-cum-stylus’s elastic lanyard gets in the way, but...

Cowon O2 (8GB, white)

In the U.S., Cowon has a reputation for ambitious portable media players that perform well but cost too much. The Cowon O2 touch-screen portable video player, however, makes amends for Cowon's pricey past, thanks to this player's triple-threat of...

The Cowon O2 is an affordable and powerful portable media player with outstanding audio and video format support, a large touch-screen display, impressive battery life, and SDHC memory expansion.

Screen resolution is disappointing on the Cowon O2; menus lack ID3 tag sorting; DRM-protected WMA and WMV formats won't play; videos must be bookmarked manually; there's no FM radio; no video recording; and the player's all-plastic construction is...

The Cowon O2 isn't flashy, but it's an incredible value for a convenient way to take your video library on the go without the hassle of converting files.

Cowon O2 PVP Review

Who needs a portable video player? Nearly everyone, it seems. While the market is full of PVPs, relatively few of them stand out. Cowon's O2 stands out for its long battery life, but that's not all it offers to recommend it. Keep reading for a closer...

The Cowon O2 may not encounter the wild popularity of the iPod Touch or the high sales numbers of the Archos 5, but there's no doubt the O2 will find a loyal audience with those looking for a PVP that does just that -- acts as a simple, easy-to-use...

Cowon O2 Noreve Case Review

The O2 is too big to fit in your pocket which makes it a good candidate for a protective case since its likely to tossed into a bag or carried by itself. If you have read any of our case reviews you know that we are fans of the Noreve cases. This one...
