Epson Stylus Photo 1500W review

Although the all-black A3+ Epson 1500W/Artisan 1430 printer looks different to the two-tone Epson 1400, under the hood it's a different matter.

Comparatively cheap ; Great on glossy paper ; 1.5pl drop size ; Good connectivity ; Fast and quiet

Small ink cartridges ; Black and white not so good

The Epson Stylus Photo 1500W comes with a decent range of colour profiles, and is capable of good results straight out of the box. It doesn't do anything to dent Epson's reputation for producing printers that excel with glossy media, and it's a sold...

Epson Stylus Photo 1500W

An A3 printer for those who want giant photos printed at home.

Telescopic trays for small footprint ; PictBridge socket ; Full-bleed, even on large prints

Poor draft mode print ; Up to 40s pre-print processing ; Takes up most of a desk

Software support is basic, with a good printer driver, but little else. With a photo printer you don’t really need much else, as you’re likely to be using your image editor of choice anyway, and just need your printer to interface well with that.
