Konica Minolta magicolor 7450

Photo output close to true photo quality. Handles paper sizes up to 12.25 by 47.24 inches. Fast photo printing

Text quality a bit low for a laser, though good enough for most business needs

The Konica Minolta magicolor 7450 comes up a touch short on text quality, but prints darn good photos for a laser.

Magicolor 7450

Konica Minolta's Magicolor 7450 is a mid-range A3+ desktop laser printer, based on a copier engine. It's a fairly robust printer, with Konica Minolta claiming a duty cycle of 120,000 pages per month.

Excellent text and graphics reproduction for a laser printer in this class

It can be quite noisy, not as fast as expected, auto settings on paper trays are best ignored

This is a solidly built machine that looks capable of taking years of abuse, and is ideal for documents and content proofing. It’s not going to rival inkjet printers for photographs, but picture quality is better than many comparable laser printers and...

Magicolor 7450

Konica Minolta's latest laser printer may look like a 1970s Soviet housing project, but a few niggles aside, the quality of its output will satisfy many designers.

Excellent colour-fidelity and a wide colour gamut. Good all-round image quality with no banding.

Ugly, with a frustrating paper-feed system.

As you'd expect, the 7450 offers the usual range of extra trays and duplex options. Installation is easy, especially on a Mac where the 7450 supports Apple's Bonjour (neé Rendevous) automatic network location technology

Bad buy for the money

In our view, this has been our worst printer purchase ever. We do graphic design work, but this machine has not even been capable of delivering decent proofs for our clients. If you do have any problems, the maintenance and calibration menu is...

The printer is great if you need a little workhorse and don't care about quality. There are better buys, however, for the money if that's all you need

This is billed as a quality printer, but we have had print quality issues from day one with light prints, not sharp text, and the ink never fully covering on solids on prints. Tech support has been terrible with waits of at least 45 minutes on hold

Color tones varies Fuser unit defect 2 USD per print

I´ve bought a magicolor minolta 7450, in Mexico at 5,000 USD, I´ve printed in 8 months only 10,000 copies, changed toners 3 times, and ask me change the fuser (specs says 120,000 copies) and only gave me 10,000 Minolta mexico reject my guarantee...

The exterior design only

No real guarantee support in Mexico, Fuser unit with a factory defect, poor quiality in small letters, color tones varies, consumables really expensive, really

Product does not deliver as the technical specs indicate.

I purchased this printer due to the ability to print 11X17 sheets with the optional tray. From the technical specifications, I had an expectation that the cost per print would be lower than with the HP1220C ink jet that this printer replaced. I also...

Toner lasts a long time. IF it prints without jamming, prints beyond the first print happen very quickly

Constant jamming. Very slow to start the first print

An excellent printer for the money!

Although they say the first page is out in 13 seconds or so, this is not true. Once it begins to print, multiple copies are fast but it can take the up to a minute to rip a single page in the printer. Although I have not used the collating feature...

Great color, great black and white, reasonably fast

Software from the Mac platform is poor compared to the PC platform! It won't print overlays (PROOF, etc) from the Mac side and manual feed requires operator intervention

Konica Minolta 7450 II

Excellent printer. Never jams, never skips a beat. Plenty of configuration options too, which is great for a medical facility that has a lot of custom charts that need printing.

Little bit outdated MFD, but works great at a very low cost. No colour scanning though.
