Lexmark X502n color laser multifunction

A color laser multifunction aimed squarely at small offices and work groups, the $700 Lexmark X502n prints, scans, copies, and faxes, and does it all quickly and well. (If you don't need fax, the X500n saves you $200.) The X502n isn't perfect--it's...

Produces high-quality prints very quickly; low print costs; network ready; built-in ADF.

No junk fax blocker or secure fax receive mode; no way to save fax groups; walk-up scanning is not enabled with USB connections; grayscale scanning needs some improvement.

Although it's missing some fax features that many small offices and work groups find useful, the Lexmark X502n produces fast, high-quality prints. This is one laser multifunction that has a lot going for it.

Lexmark X502n

The Lexmark X502n ($699 direct) color laser all-in-one (AIO) does so many things so well that it could have been a strong Editors' Choice contender. Unfortunately, it trips over the little things, most notably clear instructions for how to use some of...

Fast. High-quality output. Printer; scanner; standalone fax machine, copier, and e-mail sender

Can't fax from PC. Lacks instructions for key features

The Lexmark X502n offers an impressive combination of speed, output quality, and features but lacks the fine attention to detail that would make it an unequivocal winner.

Lexmark X502n colour laser multifunction review

Although it's missing some fax features that many small offices and work groups find useful, the Lexmark X502n produces fast, high-quality prints. This is one laser multifunction that has a lot going for it

Produces high-quality prints very quickly ; Low print costs ; Network ready ; Built-in automatic document feeder

No junk fax blocker or secure fax receive mode ; No way to save fax groups ; Walk-up scanning is not enabled with USB connections ; Greyscale scanning needs some improvement

The X502n's Achilles' heel is greyscale scanning. It did a pretty good job handling various patterns, but the scan was very overblown, with a faded look to it. None of the blacks were remotely black, and details were shot in the highlighted areas of...

Lexmark X502n laser multifunction printer

Lexmark's home inkjets are the epitome of easy-to-install easy-to-use printers. It might be wise, then, for Lexmark's business laser division to go and have a look at how they do it, since this new laser multifunction device, the Lexmark X502n, proves...

If you like a little experimentation, you'll find the Lexmark X502n has more than enough ability and class to make excellent work of your printing, scanning and faxing. However, the Lexmark X502n's documentation is poor and, for the inexperienced,...

Lexmark - x502n

Based on the same engine used to power the popular Lexmark c500 family of colour lasers, the x502n is a robust multifunction device from a respected manufacturer. But it's not particularly cheap and leaves a lot ...

Based on a proven colour laser printer engine, the Lexmark x502n is a robust and capable multi-function printer that will save money compared to buying separate dedicated devices. It's also relatively cheap to run, but we didn't find it as easy to use...

Review: Lexmark x502n MFP

A powerful, fast colour MFP with scanner, document feeder and fax modem

Consumer review by:

"Stupid High Cost Per Page"

I've had my Lexmark printer for what I feel is a short time. In that period, I have printed only a handful of color print jobs due to the obscene cost of color toner. (Current cost is about $80 USD for each of the three colors, $240 USD total.) My...

Easy Setup for me

Cost per page, Lexmark support, and pretty much just the Lexmark company as a whole

"I will never buy Lexmark again !"

On new and full cartridges its good. DF works well.

Over priced to start with. Lots of jams. A mission to link up with Vista. A toner guzzler ! Very expensive toner ! Cannot refill.
