Denon AVR-1913

AV receivers are maddeningly difficult to compare, sometimes because they're so similar. Denon's AVR-1913 ($600 street) sits at the high end of the brand's mainstream line of AV receivers, and in terms of features, there isn't much that separates it...

The Denon AVR-1913 has a good set of features, with six HDMI inputs, built-in AirPlay, an iOS/Android app, DLNA compatibility, and built-in streaming audio services like Pandora, Sirius, and Internet radio. The included remote is best-in-class and the...

The Denon AVR-1913 is relatively expensive, especially since it lacks a standout feature to distinguish itself from competitors. It doesn't have built-in Wi-Fi or an affordable Wi-Fi dongle. Denon's step-down AVR-1713 will be a better buy for most...

The Denon AVR-1913 has a solid set of features and excellent sound quality, but competing AV receivers offer better value.

Denon AVR-1913 A/V Receiver

As much as the phrase “plug and play” has saturated the electronics world to the point of near-ubiquity, it's not a label we've ever seen applied to the giant mess of inputs, outputs, and speaker connections that define the A/V receiver. That's not to...

This brings me to an interesting final point. Viewed in a vacuum, the AVR-1913 looks like a good receiver choice for $580. But the stepup Denon AVR-2113CI, for just $70 more at $650, gives you a significant bump up to Audyssey MultEQ XT, 4K video...

Denon AVR-1913 A/V Receiver

We've come a long way since the days—not too long ago—when the graphic interface on Denon's A/V receivers looked like a relic of the Commodore VIC-20 operating system, and the back panel of even the lowliest model was so packed with esoteric...

"Good Quality, Poor Product"

All the time I get a "Mode Not Supported" error from my Samsung TV, never was a problem before the Denon. It also has trouble with many of my HDMI devices. I can't pinpoint a source (sometimes switching from an analog input to HDMI, other times from...

The sound is great and the feature list/flexibility (I have mine set to bi-amp) is fantastic.

"LOVE this receiver! Great sound and a very easy set-up."

I had a Denon AVR-87 for 12 years before my purchase. It was a great receiver, so I decided to stick with Denon. After a lot of research, I decided to go with the AVR-1913. I have not been disapointed. Now being on the market for over a year and being...

It sounds AWESOME!

It is not Wi Fi and it only has one sub input.. Both did not affect me.

"Not perfect, but nearly"

Sound quality is very good. Even air play songs from my iPhone sound very good. Compared to my last Denon AVR-635, my speakers had a more open sound and better sound stage or presence. FWIW, I'm running 12 year old Paradigm Titan bookshelf speakers...

+ Sound quality is very good

- No SACD support

"This is the worst component that I have ever had!"

I really wish Denon Tech Support but after six calls they could not help fix this but they are absolutely no help. My retailer said it sounded like a compression problem. I even swapped out the unit. Yesterday they exchanged it for a Yamaha which works...

Nice unit, I just wish it worked!

The sound quality & volume vary. When you fast forward the volume can change without any input. When music comes on the volume goes down & sounds muffled. I've called Denon many time & no help. I think it's a conflict with Directv.

"Sound that will make you the envy of your friends"

Initially I bought the Sony STR-DN1030 on CNET's suggestion, but was left a little underwhelmed with the sound. Not that it was BAD, but it didn't really beat my old Denon 5.1 system, and I realized that after messing around with blutooth and wifi for...

Unparalleled sound quality

No built in Wi-fi or Blutooth, but assuming you don't need to use your smartphone to operate the receiver all the time, not a big deal.

Denon 1913 Great Receiver

Overall I think this is a great receiver and if given the opportunity to, I would purchase it again.

The setup is very simple that even an aging baby boomer could hook it up with relative ease. This unit replaced an aging Sony unit which had one hdmi in and one hdmi out. I thought it was great having 6 hdmi inputs (5 on back 1 on front), and they are...

I really don't have any cons but if there is one thing I would change is the IPOD/USB slot on the front face. I think it detracts from the overall appearance of the unit with having an IPOD plug hanging down from the front of the receiver. I understand...

Nice Receiver

I replaced my 8 year old Sony surround sound system as I needed more HDMIs. The product was easy to install and calibrate. The sound quality is amazing! The simple remote is icing on the cake.
