Good amplifier, not so much AVR

Works great as an amplifier for my home theater setup. It was a nightmare to reassign this AVR as the default playback device on a PC every time either the AVR or PC was rebooted, forcing me to connect directly to the projector. Somewhat uncomfortable...

Price ; Design ; Sound quality (to my taste) ; Supports most digital input formats ; Plenty of power

No HDMI pass-through ; Not PC-friendly when connected through HDMI ; Bad remote control design ; Bad on-screen menu

Only lasted 1 year

Had everything I needed and worked great for one year

Video now cuts in/out. Occasionally at moderate volumes it will display "PROTECT" on the screen and then shut down. This happens 3 to 4 times per show. So annoying I'm ready to throw it away. I gave the Sony amplifier I replaced to a friend and it is...

Awful support

Decent processing, low delay

Device failed within 2 months and I've had an RMA request in for over 5 weeks now with no more than an automated response. Definitely don't recommend buying this unless you're sure it won't have any problems

Nice Receiver

Setup is straight forward. On-screen menus aren't graphical or pretty, but the nuts and bolts are all there. Highly configurable.

Worked great right out of the box. Plugged in my Onkyo speakers and everything just worked. No feedback or any other problems that some users have described. Great sound

Pretty much Free

Read the darn manual before you post "stuff". There is important information in there. For each speaker group, select one of these eight crossover frequencies: LARGE, 40Hz, 60Hz, 80Hz, 100Hz, 120Hz, 150Hz or 200Hz. If the speaker's crossover frequency...

The Receiver is practically free. You get ALOT for your money

To be honest, I am Not sure

I will give it 5 stars if the feedback is normal. It sounds really good up until -10db

Beautiful. Powered On. Channels sound good until -10db

Anything past -10db, I get feedback. I currently do not have a woofer hooked up as my old one was passive and this requires a powered woofer. I will try with the woofer once it is shipped, but to be honest, I am not sure if I am hearing things, if it...

love it

Replaced a Technics SA-DX 1040 home theater receiver with this, 30 watts smaller than the Technics. But being able to go all HDMI hook ups eliminated a lot of cables and mess in my home audio set up. Not to mention it sounds amazing

H/K AVR 1565

When I bought this unit, my intentions is to use it on a computer. Yep! I know that is not what it is Normally used for, but I saw it as a cheep way to add theater sound for a system that I use for some sound editing on and it working out well. I kind...

Good unit for the money. Easy to set up

It would be nice if it had a better setup screen in a world that most electronic appliances that attaches to your TV has a built-in manual. Having balancing issues with my AKG headphones - read my notes
