Marantz NR1602 review

Whether through luck or design, Marantz has created something rather special with the NR1602. Driven by a desire to innovate within the often stultifying constraints of hardcore AV, the company has taken the traditional hefty AVR form factor and...

Rich, melodious character; AirPlay and internet radio; good audio file compatibility; slick design

Audyssey AutoEQ not always accurate; not a muscle amp

Marantz NR1602

We find out why Marantz?s sublime slim receiver deserves plenty of AirPlay?

Refined and reasonably powerful sound quality ; Stylish slimline design ; AirPlay support and smooth music streaming

No Wi-Fi support or video scaling ; Can get more features for your money elsewhere ; Remote a little too busy

We?re really impressed by the NR1602. Not only is it teeming with features, including DLNA streaming, internet radio, AirPlay and 3D support, but its slimline design is also gorgeous and sound quality is sublime, despite its low-sounding power rating.

Marantz NR1602 AV receiver with AirPlay

Review With the NR1602, Marantz has nuked the traditional AV receiver. The old template of massive amplification is out. In its place is an emphasis on networking prowess and design. The result is arguably the most forward-thinking receiver we'll see...

Marantz NR1602

Excellent price from Vanns. I bought this unit primarily because it is very slim with its height being only a little over 4. This allowed me to place this in an area where my regular full height receiver would not fit. I am very happy with its...

Marantz NR1602 AV Receiver

I had an older SONY AV receiver that lost its right front channel. Rather than have it repaired, I decided to upgrade the 7 year old receiver to a new one that could connect to my network, get firmware updates over the internet and add multiple HDMI...
