Naim Nait 5i review

The Nait 5i is more than just a great introduction to the Naim brand; it's an extremely musical amplifier

Energetic, dynamic and downright musical sound ; just enough of that Naim eccentricity to please traditionalists

A bit short, spec-wise ; just enough of that Naim eccentricity to perturb newcomers

Thrillingly confident, widescreen sound makes the 5i a no-brainer when it comes to drawing up your shortlist

Naim Nait 5i

The long-running Nait is the only integrated amp in this established brand's comprehensive range of components. The 5i is described as ?the most powerful and best-sounding Nait ever?, but in the scheme of things its 50 watt rating doesn't seem a big...

Taut, precise timing, plenty of energy and tremendous coherence

Slight forwardness to the upper midrange, crude remote

Naim Nait 5i

Without a doubt, this is "The Best" integrated amplifier at it's price range. I used NAD C372 prior to buy this, which stated Stereophile class B recommended component. With this new amp, the change I am having is 100000 miles apart. Everything is same...

Naim Nait 5i

This review is for the italic version 2. I replaced an Arcam integrated with the Naim Nait 5i-2 and wasn't really expecting too much difference. I was right except for two major areas. One, the music had more punch and was more dynamic. The first thing...

Naim Nait 5i

This is the 5i "italic" (i.e. version 2) that has the front panel iPod input. The amp has the distinctive and very pleasing Naim "PRatT", or pace, rhythm, and timing, which makes for a very lively and punchy sound. The music remains very natural...

I've been listening to this Nait5i for less than a day; does this disqualify my opinion? hell no, as I've owned a complete 5 series kit in the past, that I regretably sold only to venture through audio hell. Now I'm back; in love with Naim that is.

AMAZING SOUND QUALITY

very pleased, very involving sound and very musical. I am hearing so much more than on my previous amp (Audiolab 8000a)

Great sound, lots of detail and dynamics. Good at low volumes.

None really, maybe an extra input and a more logical remote. poor instrucions.

QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE

High quality nice sounding amplifier which works very well with my Shahinian Super Elf speakers

Timing, ergonomics and yes power output despite its rating so quite easy to match speakers. The sound seems to keep improving.

Limited inputs and no phono stage
