Onkyo currently offers ten A/V receivers, priced from $249 for the TX-SR304 all the way up to the $2,099 flagship TX-NR904. The THX Select2 certified model we're looking at here, the TX-SR705, may be the sweet spot in the lineup.

Onkyo TX-SR705 7.1 Channels Receiver Receivers

Bought to replace a smaller HT-RC160.....wow I am using the Onkyo speakers except for fronts..Cerwin Vega 12s...yes it drives them very well.. All I can say is this puppy rocks...I cant tell you emphatically enough how clear and distortionless it is.....

Onkyo TXSR705

Absoulely awesome sound quality! Easy to use/navigate. I love the Audessey automatic set up feature, very easy to use. 7.1 Dolby TrueHD and DTS HD MA sound unbelievable...highly recommend.

None other than the unit is very big....perhaps in this age of ever evolving technology these units could become smaller...that is the only (very minor) downside.
