Kingston HyperX 3K SSD review round-up: Cheaper than its predecessor and almost as good

Kingston's new HyperX 3K SSD has appeared, powered by a second-generation SandForce SF-2281 processor. Sizes ranging from 90GB to 480GB and are appropriately...

Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD Review

The SSD market is literally saturated with competitors, and with SSDs being one of the “must-have” items these days, it's easier to get overwhelmed with trying to decide which make/model of SSD to go with in your system. Many people initially approach...

The Kingston HyperX 3K 240GB SSD touts high performance numbers and based on the benchmarks, it delvers on the goods. As this has been one of the fastest SSD drives we have tested here at Techwarelabs, I assumed that the cost would be reflective of...

Kingston HyperX 3K (240GB) Review and Ratings

The HyperX 3K is a smart-looking drive with an unmatched accessory bundle, but we've tested a few faster, less costly SSDs that also have a bit more usable capacity.

Excellent installation kit ; Snazzy-looking shell

Pricey, given its performance in our tests ; Less capacity out of the box compared to competing drives ; Small-file performance lagged a bit behind the pack

Kingston HyperX 3K 120GB review

A good-looking and reasonable-value drive, but there are cheaper and quicker rivals

The HyperX at least manages to outpace the Crucial drive when it comes to accessories. The M4 doesn’t include any extras in the box, so you may have to budget extra for a 2.5in to 3.5in bracket to fit the SSD in your case - the Kingston 3K has one in...

Failed with no warning

I would only recommend this drive to people who don't mind losing both data and money. Do yourself a favor and buy an SSD that's more reliable with a better warranty.

It was fast while it worked.

After about 3.5 years (so just out of the warranty period) this hard drive decided to completely stop working out of nowhere.

Good Customer Service

The First one I had died after about a year, but the Second one I've had for 2 years now and it still works, however, there are faster SSD's for the Same Price these days.

- Good Customer Service - Somewhat Cost Efficient as far a Price for Performance - Replacement was a Breeze

- First one Died after about a Year

Very fast drive

No excuse to not get an SSD as your boot drive for the prices they have out now.

Have not had any issues Boot time is minimal and loads games very quickly

Wish it had more space

Worked great, but really flimsy sata connector broke

Other than the connector, this is a great drive. Kingston should really replace their connector source with a slightly more robust connector. Granted, most people do not touch the drive after installing it. So its probably my bad.

Very fast (>500MB/sec), seems reliable without any flash failures. Good solid drive. Used it on my every day main machine so it got a fair amount of use.

The SATA connector broke when I was doing some work on the machine and tried to remove it. I looked very carefully at the plastic portion that goes into the cable and noticed it was quite thin. Compared it to my intel SSD and Seagate drives. Definitely...
