OCZ Trion 100 series solid-state drive review:

The new OCZ Trion 100 is one of the slowest solid-state drive (SSDs) on the market but it's likely the most affordable. Most importantly, the SSD is still considerably faster than any regular hard drives (HDDs).

The OCZ Trion 100 series solid-state drive is much faster than any regular hard drive and is affordable. The SSD also has high endurance, allowing you to write a lot of data to it before it becomes unreliable.

Compared with other solid-state drives (not traditional hard drives) on the market the new Trion is among the slowest. The drive also comes with a short three-year warranty and doesn't support encryption.

For what it costs, the OCZ Trion 100 series solid-state drive and ideal replacement drive for an older computer that still runs on a regular hard drive.

OCZ Trion 100 (240GB, 480GB & 960GB) SSD Review: Bringing Toshiba to the Retail

It's been a year and a half since OCZ went bankrupt and Toshiba acquired its assets. In this time we have seen OCZ transition all of its products to Toshiba NAND and we have also discussed how Toshiba has helped OCZ with its quality/validation...

The bar for TLC SSDs was set by Samsung in 2012 and frankly that bar was set very high. As a company that develops everything in-house, Samsung has a massive advantage when it comes to new technologies because its controller and NAND teams can...

OCZ Trion 100 480GB Review (Page 1 of 11)

In March 2014, three weeks before I was supposed to receive my Iron Ring, I received an email from the undergraduate office at the university. "It appears that you are missing one tech elective," the program coordinator explained. "Being deficient in a...

If you need some solid reasons to drive to the store and Trion this product, then I am going to state it now: The OCZ Trion 100 480GB is an SSD with strong read performance for consumer based workloads. Puns aside (I promised my colleague Aaron Lai to...

OCZ Trion 100 480GB Solid State Drive Review

OCZ has recently launched their Trion 100 series of solid state drives ranging from 120 GB - 980 GB capacities. This drive is the first from OCZ that uses all

– Great read performance ; – 3-year ShieldPlus warranty ; – High endurance rating

– Write performance could be better ; – No accessories or software included

OCZ’s last value-oriented solid state drive was the ARC 100, which used the older OCZ Barefoot 3 M10 controller. Now that it has been over a year since the Toshiba acquisition we are seeing a value-oriented drive that uses all Toshiba components from...

OCZ Trion 100 SSD: Bringing flash performance to the masses

For most mainstream users, SSDs that employ TLC (Triple-Level Cell) NAND is the best way to go as it offers the best blend of performance and affordability. OCZ's new Trion 100 SSD is the latest TLC drive to hit the market and we put it through its...

Very compelling price ; Respectable read performance ; SSD Guru management utility ; Good endurance for a TLC-based SSD

Poor write performance ; No accessories ; ShieldPlus is great, but not available locally

At the end of the day, the OCZ Trion 100 SSD is a basic entry-level SSD that is great for users who want to get a taste of what SSD performance is like. For the longest time, we have championed SSDs as the ultimate system upgrade to have, especially if...

OCZ Trion 100 SSD Review

One of the big changes in the SSD marketplace in recent times was OCZ Technology (or OCZ Storage Solutions depending on your age) becoming part of the Toshiba group. Since that integration we have seen OCZ starting to take advantage of Toshiba's...

With this being the first OCZ branded SSD to use Toshiba NAND and controller we were interested to see if there was any significant change in experience over existing drives… and the answer is nothing significant. Standard packaging, standard casing...
