Great Drive - terrible rebates!

I have 2 - OCZ Vertex Turbo's, running in RAID 0. Great performance

Rebate model is the worst ; OCZ uses a 3rd Party Vendor to handle their rebates ; Literally takes 4 months to get your rebate, then you will find out, it is not a check, but a Visa Gift Card ; This whole rebate idea to trick consumers into thinking...

One of the best SSDs out there!

I would recommend getting the Vertex Limited Edition 100GB for around $50-70 more. For that money you get read/writes of 270MBps/250MBps and higher IOPS compared to the Intel X-25M! This drive is by far

Fast Boots (10 seconds after POST in Windows 7) ; Fast Random reads/writes (4KB) (25MBps/12MBps) ; Fast Sequential reads/writes (250MBps/150MBps) ; TRIM and Garbage Collection with the shipping 1.5 firmware in Windows 7 ; Silent ; Great support and...

Intel RAID drivers still disable TRIM (nothing to fault the SSD for though ; Isn't 500GB lol (but still 2nd best in class for speeds per gigabyte and is only beaten by Vertex Limited Edition using a Sandforce controller)

Buyer Beware: No FW updates

Fast drive out of the box. Great support forum. Easy to install. Prices are coming down

While this drive delivers great performance initially people who buy it should know that OCZ doesn't provide any means to update the firmware. OCZ is currently shipping FW 1.4 with the turbo drives. It does not support garbage collection. If you put...

Fast!!! Best bang for the buck

The thing to keep in mind folks is that the operating system thinks this is a regular hard drive. These drives are not a magical fix for all of the operating system related issues like fragmentation that happens in normal use. The speed of these drives...

Blazing fast. We are using these drives for a mid level drive replacement for SAS drives in our production systems. These drives are outperforming all of the other SSD drives we have evaluated in this price range. We are seeing over 100Mb/s sustained...

Do Not Buy OCZ SSD's

They will be great at first. After a week your write times will slow to a crawl

These drives are cheap. The Firm Ware is old. Goto OCZ forums before you buy. After a weeks worth of use my write times are slower than my raptor. Once slow. You wont get the speeds back. And OCZ expects you to buy Diskeeper@$40 ; Erase your drive and...

Office Server

If you are concerned about load times SSD is the way to go. I don't know about reliability, but from the specs, just another reason to have this drive if you are concerned about data protection. I have not used cheaper SSDs either, but I wanted the...

Using this as main drive in the server for a dental office. The speed is incredible compared to the previous raptor Raid 0 setup. Dramatically reduced load times for everything and as a result all computers (7 total) in office respond more quickly

Outstanding Drive

Obviously the cost is a big issue but if you have the money it is a good investment if speed is a concern. With SATA 3.0Gb/s, I'd wait until the price came down a little more before getting these drives.

Extremely fast drive. I put all of my frequently used applications on this drive (Firefox, Microsoft Office, etc). I used to have this drive as the operating system drive, but now it is a partition that is mounted with the file system (Program Files)....

I first put the operating system (Windows 7 Professional) on this drive, but the bootloader couldn't see this drive after it booted. Most likely a BIOS problem or Windows bootloader problem. I worked around it by making a boot drive (non-solid state)...

It's really that fast

SSDs will be the storage medium of the 2010s. We'll be using these drives 'til 3d optical storage comes out.

This is a beast of a drive! Windows 7 only took 10 minutes to install, and it takes 2-3 seconds to get from the welcome screen to desktop. Have yet to experience any lag

Intel's X25-M G2 is still a bit faster, but it's hardly noticable

New drive. New review.

Price is kind of high for a MLC drive. Wish I had saved a bit more money and just bit the bullet to get a PCIe SSD.

First drive was defective, apparently. It had issues and was disappearing from the BIOS quite frequently. This drive is perfect. No issues thus far

Had to pay to RMA it. Kind of felt it was OCZ's responsibility to at least pay for shipping especially since they only give you a limited amount of time to send in the defect. Also asked for updates as to why it wasn't working. They said they would,...

Interesting

W7 boots great with this drive just plug & play out of the Box. I will be setting up the partition correctly tomorrow. W7 RS 7100 seems to be having TRIM issues as this functionality isn't correctly being utilized. It is an RC so that doesn't surprise...

Very fast, should have TRIM support. Nice look. Low Heat (virtually none). I was able to plug and play literally and install the latest W7 RC 7100. Gives me WE score of 7.0 for hard drive stats. W7 boots faster than Vista or XP did. Apps are very...

Does require a new knowledge set to really be able to "use" the drive. Price/performance upgrade hasn't been amazing. I haven't tested paired with a descent system yet so take this with some salt. Since the price increase I can't say this is the "hot...
