Energy Take Classic 5.1

The Energy Take Classic 5.1 is a beautifully designed speaker set and a solid choice for home theater systems in small- to medium-size living rooms.

Stellar sound quality for the price. Surprisingly seamless transition between subwoofer and satellites. Beautiful black gloss finish

Subwoofer is very sensitive to placement, though that's true of most similarly designed systems

Fortunately, the Energy Take Classic 5.1 system avoids the above pitfalls. It delivers stellar performance, especially considering its reduced $400 price. In my tests, the satellites sounded clear and transparent, with a surprisingly natural-sounding...

Energy Take Classic 5.1

Cheap, small, sounds great: pick two. That's how home audio almost always works. We say almost, because the Energy Take Classic 5.1 is one of those rare products that's seemingly without compromise. The speakers are compact (although not tiny like the...

The Energy Take Classic 5.1 offers outstanding sound quality for a compact surround-sound speaker system. All of the speakers feature a beautiful piano-black finish, looking more expensive than the system's budget price. Altogether, the system is one...

Pioneer's SP-PK21BS sounds better for the same price, although it's a much larger system

The Energy Take Classic 5.1 is the best budget speaker system we've reviewed, earning our Editors' Choice Award with its outstanding sound quality and exquisite looks.

Energy Take Classic Speaker System Review and Prices

Energy's Take Classic series is a throwback to their tried-and-true Energy Take system which all but dominated the home theater speaker market years ago. Far from being a trendy system, the Energy Take system was a robust, almost overbuilt speaker set...

Unbelievable value and performance

Energy Take Classic 5.-1-Channel Speaker System

The Take Classic 5.1-channel system ($800) from the Canadian firm Energy has the distinction of being the lowest priced surround system in our survey, but don't let that fact dissuade you from giving it serious consideration. Energy, you see, has a...

But let me be clear; given its compact size and modest prize, the Take Classic system is a mighty impressive performer. In terms of tonal balance it is one of the most honest and uncolored systems in our survey and its imaging and soundstaging...

Energy Take Classic

The Energy Take Classic is a sharp, winning surround sound system. We like the way it looks, the way it sounds and the price tag. Even if you don't get a chance to test out these speakers for yourself, you will like what you get from this product. It...

This home theater speaker system performs admirably with both music and movies

The warranty is not as comprehensive as it could be. The amp gets only one year of coverage after purchase

This speaker system comes with a history of good performance, reliability and hi-fi sound.

Best value home-theater speakers

Headbangers and those who like to hear their music and movies in the next area code would likely be better served by beefier and more expensive home theater speakers. For everyone else, experts say the Energy Take Classic 5.1 delivers incredible sound...

Great sound quality, great value, uncolored sound reproduction, excellent performance with music

Small sweet spot for best sound quality, sound quality decreases at high volumes

"Major disappointment in the product and the CNET review"

For years i have owned a pair of low end Yamaha speakers. I decided based on the editor's review to purchase the 5.1 system. Every time i turn on the sound system i am disappointed. If you are seeking a sound system that will provide a rich sound with...

Looks nice

This sound system was a major disappointment! If you are looking for rich sounding speakers that can cover a wide range look elsewhere. The high end is completely missing.

"Samsung un40d6420/Take Energy 5.1/Denon AVR 1912"

Finally purchased these speakers along with a Denon 1912 AVR Receiver, The sound is PHENOMENAL. I am so glad I bought these instead of the Bose Cinemate II System I was contemplating. Watching the Masters today I felt like I was right there in the...

Great sound!

Set-up with the Denon 1912 was difficult. The auto calibration didn't work at all had to be done manually. The Take Energy 5.1 Package is a GREAT BUY for the money!!!
